Maathevan, I don't know whether you read d book before this interview. But by seeing this video I personally feel that you haven't read that book. If you have already read this book before please ignore this comment or if you haven't please take this as an suggestion to prepare better for an interview like this next time. It would have been better if you read d book and had a clear idea of the book before the interview. So that you would have much better questions that dig the truth. Your questions were more of a common man's point of view. Veerappan and his team of five were already killed inside the forest during Grenade Training given by a Maoist to Veerappan and his team. All of them fainted after a grenade blast which was part of a Sub- Inspector's plan.
IPS Vijay Kumar has nothing to do with the Operation Cocoon except the last checkpost shooting which is not needed because they were already killed.
One cannot take out Veerappan from the jungle that easily in his book's climax. The key strength of Veerappan for that entire 30 years of police chasing. The real brain is of that local SI who planned for years to execute it.

Maathevan don't get into cinema while interviewing such a senior most IPS official... There are lot more intense questions to ask about operation cocoon.. The silly questions like "ungala thaniya vara solirundha enna mudivu eduthurupenga??", "Pidicha vishayam nu edhum iruka?" could have been avoided...

I read the book on Veerappan written by Mr. Vijaya Kumar in 4 days. It is a great book that is hard to put down once you start reading it. Shows all the sacrifices made by 1000s of police officials to put an end to this culprit.
