my first thought was why didn't you clear your work area first, then you wouldn't be getting your hose tangled up, i always clear my area first then there's no damaging anything either
When i clean wood i make sure i get the wood wet 1st then i add bleach i dont want the wood sucking up the bleach im trying to treat whats on top of the wood so let wood get water then add the bleach it will just sit on top of wood treat whats on the wood there is nothing in the wood to treat remember we are treating the surface and wood is kinda like a sponge no need the sponge to take all the bleach when just the surface top is effected remember there is a lot of ways to damage wood and one is over chemical the wood when all you need to do is treat the surface hope helps
my first time pressuring washing wood, rented a pressure washer from home depot to use on a deck of a house I was renting. I tore the wood and splintered it like you said. kind of looked cool but definitely some irreversible damage. glad I moved from there. 😬
DN10 ball valve attached to mosmatic swivel, it will change your pressure washing life. If you run a female coupler out the end of it you can lay chem with a nice foam with the right surfactant. You can switch for gun to surface cleaner without having to turn you machine off and let pressure out.
Every single job - I begin the house rinse with the 12v so our pump is for sure cleaned out. This way I never forget or wonder if I ran clean water through it or not.
Can you softwash a deck with SH, rinse it, and then apply Oxilic acid? Basically removing the tedious work of using pressure on every square inch? Would it come out the same or close to the same result?
Do you recommend buying a soft wash machine, or a pressure washer first. Second, can you reach 2 stories and clean roofs with a soft washer. If so, how? Sorry if that’s stupid but I’m new to this.
I’m going re-stain my deck but can’t I just use a power washer to get the small layer of mold off and then stain it? Do I absolutely have to sand it too?
I had a question about green spots on the deck cleaned a deck with clean sol bc snd bleach and still could not get the green to come out what should I do. Also do you do wood staining if so what do you charge for it on average ?
Hey zay I stay in Burlington nc where do you get your clean product from in Kernersville, no one around me sales SH and I’m having to go to Lowe’s or Walmart to pick up
I'm not a wood expert but I'm working towards that goal. I've been watching the wizard of wood for deck restoration plus on youtube. They have some interesting vids on how to clean, restore, stain and protect wood. I'm staring my own exterior wood restoration business this year...hopefully sometime in April.
For anyone out there trying to get good advice This is not how you professionally clean a deck. In very severe cases it's okay to clean a deck with bleach using no more then 4% bleach. Using bleach will clean it but will cause the deck to look dry and old because what you are doing is changing the PH balance in the wood. oxalic acid is fine to use as a deck brightener with proper protection. For whatever reason you use bleach make sure to hydrate the wood before hand and after very well. The best way to clean wood is to hydrate the wood then apply sodium percarbonate or Oxi Clean with down stream or x jet then pressure wash/rinse with a 40 degree tip. No mater what you do after almost a year of direct sunlight on wood un protected there will be dead wood fibers and possibly mold, mildew, algae and dirt. Wood is the most difficult to clean that i have seen so far don't half fast wood cleaning for a customer when you are getting payed to do so. If you intend on using bleach always let the costumer know the result of using it will cause it to age faster and dry out and age the wood. Don't be lazy, you should always get at least 3 opinions on anything. Extra Tip: When applying bleach remember to rinse any organic growth that you don't want to die like plants/flowers and wood before and after. I am NOT disregarding everything displayed on this channel I'm just explaining that cleaning wood is a love hate relationship nobody likes it. Keep in mind all decks are not 100% wood this information only applys to 100% wood decks/fence. Thanks
Hello! I want to pressure wash my kitchen, it's a typical naga kitchen, which means we use fire 🔥 wood in our daily cooking. So my kitchen is build of wood, and has been stained/ blacken by the smoke. Can I use pressure wash on wood and what type of chemical should I use. NP, the wood in my kitchen has never been painted
I have the same problems with decks..I spray my solution over and over on it but it never works and I'm always right up on the wood the same way I would be if no chems where applied..
I used deck cleaner to prepare for staining and it made a horrible blotchy mess over the whole thing. The deck was built last summer with pressure-treated lumber and left to dry until this year. I used Olympic deck wash and rinsed it after 10 min. What did I do wrong? Have I ruined my deck? I've seen a few posts about this product but no fixes. Anyone have any ideas?
Did you put a surfcant in the Ox Acid? What was the ox to water ratio in the bucket, roughly (8 ounce to a gallon of water for example)? No tip in the xjet I assume?
I got a question for you... You may not be able to answer it but it's been bugging me to no end !! 😩😫 "How about Under The Decks"!? Okay your going to say "You don't see the underside" Well I agree 👍 But wouldn't you wash the underside to apply Water sealants to it !? So it can protect the wood underneath the deck ! It would seem logical to do this right ! ? Well thats my question ! Thanks Man ! Well
With decks you should charge $100 an hour depends on all of yur other costs. if solo it depends on how much you value yur time. Always price with comfort because anything can happen.
How much car we charge for something like this ? Also how do you start doing this ? How hard is it to get your own company I’d appreciate if you reply 👌🏻 ima keep watching your videos
This question was been asked so many times. The answer would typically be yes but they wanted me to clean the furniture so i left it on first, cleaned it then removed it
I hate wood,I used to be a painter and staining is like washing you NEVER know how its gonna turn out..I been lucky but have had some just decent results and great results using same methods
In all honesty, my wood deck was almost that bad, and I simply power washed it with just water and a surface cleaner. Turned out just as good or better. Why use the chems when you knew the owner was going to be painting it?
Awesome job my man that patio looks fresh... I listen and learn from you honestly, you've giving so much game and I appreciate it. Question: when it comes to timing is that something that will come with time or does it depends on the chemicals and type of pressure washer?
The dude said bleach is corrosive but literally just sprayed a metal table and chair with it. Now they’re going to rust and corrode and leave rest stains on the deck 🤦♂️

Young, intelligent, hard working men like this need to go viral instead of the garbage in most social media videos!
am i the only one who asked why he didnt remove the table and the chair from the deck before he cleaned it?
I moved most of it but she wanted it cleaned too so i left it in there.
@@ZayWonderJournal you can use it metal? Cool
@@ZayWonderJournal : I would have wanted the furniture cleaned, too......but in the yard, not still on the deck!
my first thought was why didn't you clear your work area first, then you wouldn't be getting your hose tangled up, i always clear my area first then there's no damaging anything either
That was my first question
Finally someone did a wood deck, I don't think anyone likes decks ,time consuming and always thinking about wood burns, Great job
Thanks! Yes wood can be timely!
I swear every time I had a question, you stopped what you were doing explained what I was wondering lol
Haha mind reader
I was about to type verbatim the same comment...
I had the question why he left the patio furniture during the process, he did not explain lol
I got so many questions that I’m going to keep watching it over and over again until my pressure washer gets here! Thanks for the tips, Bruh!

great job. Did you rinse the Ox Acid? how would you have cleaned it if it was already stained/ painted
The ox dries with the wood. If it was painted I would’ve only used SH and washed it.
@@ZayWonderJournal In one of your vud you wash the OA off, why not this time?

@@Trident-Sea just google dn10 ball valve and it pops right up. I usually get mine from Kleen rite.
I spray the ox acid once I finish the deck to neutralize the SH once you added the ox the SH might of stoped working
Every single job - I begin the house rinse with the 12v so our pump is for sure cleaned out. This way I never forget or wonder if I ran clean water through it or not.
You have used a ryobi sprayer. How has it held up to the chems? Thanks
Still have it and it still works! I recommend it 💯
@@ZayWonderJournal thank you very much
how would you deal with plants if they were there
Why not move table and chair off the deck before starting the process???
Can you softwash a deck with SH, rinse it, and then apply Oxilic acid? Basically removing the tedious work of using pressure on every square inch? Would it come out the same or close to the same result?

Do you recommend buying a soft wash machine, or a pressure washer first. Second, can you reach 2 stories and clean roofs with a soft washer. If so, how? Sorry if that’s stupid but I’m new to this.
So, you first did SH, what percent mix? And the second one was “new again”?
Cant say im not a lil nervous doin wood but i guess jus makes me careful
Hey Zay, what you do think about selling them an add-on... "stain and protect" it for another $800 or so...
Yea we started offering staining
If there was vegetation to worry about. What steps would you take?
Is the chair and the table bolted to the decking ?
Does oxalic acid neutralize sh? If not what product does? Looking for something I can use at the end of a roof cleaning
Hi Zay, Thanks for vid's. Have a different question , who does the background music, group??
What percent sh mix do you use for decks personally would 3 percent be too hot
I’m going re-stain my deck but can’t I just use a power washer to get the small layer of mold off and then stain it? Do I absolutely have to sand it too?
What psi are you running, just asking cause if I got that close with my wand I'd tear the wood to shreds
I’m using under 800 psi but running an 8gpm machine so I’m softwashing
I had a question about green spots on the deck cleaned a deck with clean sol bc snd bleach and still could not get the green to come out what should I do. Also do you do wood staining if so what do you charge for it on average ?
So it's alright to put one chemical down and then spray another? Couldn't they mix badly?
Not at the same time. You rinse before applying a new chemical
We have seen alot of people say not to use sh on wood and to use sodium percarbonate. What are your thoughts on that ?
Hi how is your voice coming out very clear on the phone camera or did you enhance the video.
If so may i ask what app or program.
Many Thanks
This was filmed with a Sony zv1
I'm curious what you quoted for a job like this. I'm guessing because wood takes forever it is on the higher end of price per square foot?

Here's a thought. How about taking EVERYTHING off the deck BEFORE you start to apply the cleaner and power wash.
What is your SH mix on this job

What's up z man got a question you don't rinse the acid off the deck the deck looks very nice
Nope, The ox dries with the wood! And thanks!
You should totally rinse the acid off, it brightens the wood and balances the pH, not dry it haha.
Where do you purchase your cleaning product the New Again?
A LOT cheaper than replacing. The wood fence too?

What ratio did you use for oxalic? And sh?
Bleach counter agent works good for clean out too
Great job Zay!!! You are a devoted worker of doing thing well. 🎈🎉
