Appreciate you all so much, I gave this video a lot of thought and stoked you are helping share! My pool of devices were not as sophisticated to keep the recommendations as practical as possible. Please let me know if you are interested in me diving into some of my more advanced automations/devices shown here or in my Automation Features video (like Keen UltraLOQ, SmartVents, etc.) Thank you again! ⚙🤘
Don't use a smart plug with old fashion Air Conditioners or Refrigerators. The compressor needs time to balance pressure during shutdown, and just killing power is bad for it. This is why ACs with Remotes take a few seconds to shutoff. (Or use extra code and a Metering Smart Plug to only turn it off when it's not using power)
Thanks, Joe! I refer to older Air Conditioners since they do not have a remote and the switch / dial kills the power in the same manner as a smart switch. With that said, powering off and on any compressor in >3 minutes is no good in any application and should be avoided for the reason you mentioned. Newer Air Conditioners (with soft buttons or remotes) cannot typically be used with a Smart Switch because the state of power will not be remembered if power is cycled off and on. This behavior, and often a timeout upon restart, relates to relieving pressure upon restart. I'm going to link (2) articles below for further research, and warmly welcome and appreciate your own! cielowigle.com/blog/smart-plug-air-conditioner/ electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/115886/why-do-refrigeration-compressors-stall-when-switched-off-and-on-quickly-or-why
Thanks, William! I do not have an automated lock on my patio door. It would need two to ensure I had the same security. I say this because it's age makes it vulnerable with only the lock shown in video. I use another lock for top to ensure it cannot be pulled off track. Not that an intruder could not shatter the entire thing to gain access 😅 I hope to replace this door soon given these points, and it's weathered track system. Appreciate you being here!
Smartthings has fallen a bit short with my expectations managing mmwave. So nothing in near future. Sonoff and Shelly make great products but not in my current arsenal. I'll keep them in mind though, and appreciate ya!
Thanks for the video. I have a similar issue with a bedroom fan. I currently have a no neutral aqara smart switch installed. The switch is all or none( can't control the fan independently from the light). Would love it if you did a video on that install! Thanks again.
Thanks, Brian! I could definitely elaborate on install in another video. My next release will be centered around my e-bike, but can circle back to the Fibaro in the next month. I really appreciate you being here!

Thanks for watching!
Great video! My wallets going to be a little lighter this week! 😂
LOL thanks as always, Madison! I gave you a shout out in my latest YT community post for being my #1 commenter. Super appreciated!

Subd for more! never seen those scene controllers 🤯
Appreciate ya!
Seems like your audio and video are out of sync.. Good content from what I watched, though..
Noob problems 😅 I have my offset to compensate as using a USB mic, I'll keep my eye and ears on my next production and appreciate the input!
Great videos mate, welcome to the youtube club. I run a Home Assistant channel!
Thank you so much, Simon! Keep up the good work yourself and reach out anytime!
How family member manage to know how many click do what? And guest?
Well the large buttons are the master on and off, so guests have figured that out but only my family knows to double click for fan 🤫
Great video. Is there and automated lock on that patio door? If so can you make a video on it? Thanks

Got yourself a new subscriber thank you
Welcome aboard!
thanks for sharing, it was very informative, just wondering any plans to focus on Sonoff or mmWave motion sensors?
And Shelly too

Great video. I’m putting a few of these on my shopping list. Would love to see a video of how you added the relay to your fan at 3:54
Thanks, Greg! Second request for just that so will be sure to shoot a tutorial soon. Appreciate ya!
Hi Greg- Going to be releasing the Fibaro video guide today at 5P. Hope you can benefit from it!
