In a modern world, a fairytale adventure is never far away… be careful what you wish for.
A baker and his wife desperately yearn to have a child, but have been cursed by the Witch who lives next door, thanks to the actions of the baker’s father. The only way to lift the curse is to find four obscure yet strangely familiar items - a cow as white as milk, a slipper as pure as gold, a cape as red as blood and hair as yellow as corn. With only three nights to find them before the curse becomes irreversible, the couple head deep into the mysterious nearby woods, only to discover more about themselves than they might ever have expected… and that actions have consequences, and sacrifices must be paid.
Artistic Director Joseph Meighan brings a contemporary vision of Sondheim’s enchanting and touching masterpiece.
WARNING: INTO THE WOODS is a beautiful, clever, profound, frequently funny, sometimes somber, and ultimately uplifting take on the classic Brothers Grimm Fairytales, but it is NOT aimed at a Family audience.
