I bought a used NME X a few years ago, and have tried everything to get it to fit right. Without the ability to try it out, how would I know if a 960 will fit better?
The first thing you do with a Bauer chin cup is to remove it and throw it away. Then go buy an Under Armor football helmet chin cup or equivalent. You can Thank me later
Basically, it happens to polycarbonate masks like NME 3-5 or 930-940 (pretty sure you have one of those). Because the material is flexible, it tends to get wider every shot you take to the cage. Best way to save it in my opinion is to change the cage anytime you see it’s bent. Hope it helps.
I've said it before, I'll say it again: Goalie Nerdvana. One day I'll make it back to the west coast and be able to visit GOALIE NERDVANA in person. Until then, online and phone orders.
How do you get your helmet recertified? Can the hockey shop do it or does it have to go back to Bauer?
FULL RIGHT GLOVES!
where do you get your masks painted?

It is definitely a roll of the dice. When we got my boy a new bucket I measured like 30 times 😂
I hear ya ... and not sure what to say because fit is so so crucial in a mask. I'd start by calling Cam though for sure.
Custom foam is the way to go. May not look as slick and perfect as factory, but you can absolutely dial in fit.

Yeah maybe I’ll see lol
chin sling better option for a junior player
Still unbelievable to me that Bauer doesnt sell replacement padding kits ..
Why not actually show how to replace the hardware?
Idk why but my mask deformed into the width and now I look like a bat on ice. Any idea how to save my mask? Like its reallyyy massive

I think a lot of people don’t realize how nasty masks get. The foam itself is a petry dish over time and needs to be pulled and replaced.
Guilty of sweatband
