I did this list to kind of help you a bit, hopefully it wasn't too much, if you need good stuff to react to I know a lot that could help you and if you're ever confused about lore or game mechanics I got ya covered, I stream under this name on Twitch and am happy to help, it's awesome watching new people figure out WoW and Warcraft, there's a lot here to enjoy for sure, good luck on that Tier 2 man!
Oh naw your good homie, appreciate the help navigating in this game! Makes the experience easier, oh cool I didn't know you stream, I'll definitely pop in one of these days!
I can't wait to see him do AT LEVEL shit while it is current content. I'm open to play Horde or Alliance too so just hit me up if you need a tank or healer, I can do like any role
Thanks homie! Ya I'm thinking of just hoping into TWW once I'm leveled up and just continue to watch videos for the past expansions while farming for all those cool mounts and mogs
@@lordderecho That's mostly what people do farm for achievements, mogs, mounts, sometimes there's a fun pet or toy item too. Like you get a thing that lets you teleport back to Northrend Dalaran when you do the Shadowmourne questline for ICC.
2:19 there is a vendor on one of the balcony's in Acherus (i forgot which one) but its the dude walking around on one and he sells you the mount for 750-800g
It amazes me how you turn a simple thing into an impossible one :D I didn't even knew that damaged gear affects the quest wyrm... that's something only a non-WoW player would discover ^^
Problem: You had rez sickness and broken gear, MAYBE scaling bugs too. The vehicle system was a new feature at the time of Wrath of the Lich King and there were a few other things working against you here. So vehicles scale off your item level and stats on your gear and TEHCNICALLY the Frost Wyrm here counts as a "Vehicle". You had the Resurrection Sickness debuff from rezzing at the Spirit Healer, gotta wait for that to fall off. Also your gear was entirely broken, all red. Another issue MIGHT be that this starting area was designed with the old level ranges back when DK's used to start at level 55 in Wrath in 2008. Not sure it scales since the Shadowlands level squish in 2020 where they took the old 1-120 levels and squished them to 1-50 but since War Within or Dragonflight there might be a bug where it's scaling real hard as this area and this vehicle system were made in 2008 for Wrath so that could be fuckin it up. When you go back to Outland you're still playing War Within just questing in Outland. Having abilities from all the expansions some of the mobs and quests can be wonky AF or sometimes you just OP them. One of the biggest strengths of WoW is also one of it's biggest weaknesses. There is SO MUCH SHIT from old expansions that the pile up is unmanagable but people also don't want them to remove things so really old shit like the DK start zone from 2008 falls into disrepair. I will say those ballistae hit hard as fuck even back in the day. You really wanna fly higher and try to strafe left or right constantly and turn while doing that to circle them basically. Their shots will have to travel further that way. And yeah about the hanging corpses. Warcraft and Diablo used to be brutal as fuck man. In Diablo 1 there was a room with a bunch of naked hacked up people where you fought the Butcher and I remember the waypoint marker for undead in Warcraft 3 was a severed head on a pike. It's funny they went for T for Teen with WoW so they could market it better but the old Warcraft RTS games were M for Mature if I remember right. So story wise this starting area you're in takes place DURING Wrath of the Lich King in that "pocket of time" so to speak. Even during Wrath when this was new in 2008 it didn't make sense that you would hit level 58 by the end of this zone then suddenly go to do Outland when BC was the prior expansion as Northrend and Wrath's main story started at level 68. It was fun AF though cos DKs could OP the old BC dungeons even in Wrath. The death knights here are considered "Second generation" death knights made by the Lich King/Scourge/Plague of Undeath they're from Warcraft 3/WoW-Wrath time period The OG DKs from Warcraft 2 were made when Gul'dan put the spirits of dead orc warlocks into the rotten bodies of leftover Knights of Azeroth (Stormwind) from Warcraft 1 during Warcraft 2 and you even meet one in Outland during some quests. He's the very first the original Gul'dan made (not the alternate universe Warlords of Draenor Gul'dan). He was a boss in Black Temple as well. Another interesting bit about playable DKs in WoW is that it wouldn't make sense for races added in later expansions way after Wrath to start there as that took place DURING that time so some of the Allied Races and later races got death knights at the end of BFA in 2018 I think patch 8.3. So they did a different start for them where you're at Icecrown Citadel after Bolvar is already the new Lich King.
Gonna do the release list so you can get an idea of how old the continents/worlds are it might help you on your journey of learning to compartmentalize lore and feature releases and shit: 2002/2003 Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne expansion 2004 World of Warcraft (Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor only available in Classic Era now) Level 60 2007 The Burning Crusade expansion (Outland which is Draenor after it was torn apart at the end of Warcraft 2 thanks to Ner'zhul) Level 70 2008 Wrath of the Lich King (Northrend which honestly was the conclusion to a 7 year cliffhanger from Warcraft 3) Level 80 2010 Cataclysm (Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor revamped with Flight space for flying mounts, this is when a lot of the devs just started pulling obscure old lore out of their asses cos they didn't know where to go after they tied up the loose ends of Warcraft 3) This was the hyped expansion that didn't meet the hype, some good, some bad, the old zones PERMANENTLY changed and thousands of vanilla quests were removed and are only in the 2019 Classic version now) Level 85 2012 Mists of Pandaria (Pandaria, this was NOT based on a joke like people say, there WAS a canon pandaren in Warcraft 3 TFT's last campaign named Chen Stormstout, he was always a canon character, one of the artists drew the concept of a samurai panda in like 1999 so that's a good 6 years BEFORE Kung Fu Panda but yeah they capitalized on the idea sure) This is the expansion most players dreaded yet ironically delivered unlike Cataclysm which was the opposite) Level 90 2014 Warlords of Draenor (Draenor, Went back in time but ALSO to an alternate reality to a Draenor almost identical to the one that became Outland, but since it's an alternate one 35 years in the past it doesn't change the history of Outland Draenor and we often call this one AU Draenor or Iron Draenor, they had a ton of good ideas, they scrapped half of them and didn't do them, the theme was old school orcs & humans style Warcraft calling back to Warcraft 2, it wasn't executed well and they kinda pulled out on the expansion and just used it to facilitate Legion, people had too hard of a time comprehending an alternate reality in the past connecting to the main reality in the present, it was really just an excuse to see WC2 era Draenor but from the PoV of WoW instead of a 1995 RTS game from DOS) Level 100 2016 Legion (Broken Isles, this area was featured in WC2 and WC3, it was hella different all 3 times, it was mostly just an island in those two games but they set out the idea that we only went to ONE part of the islands in the area and so we got it as a new "continent", Legion was HYPE AF, some people hated the start because grinding power for the Artifact Weapons was a bitch and getting your Legion Legendaries was a bitch, I started it late in 7.3 so all the catch up mechanics were there and I didn't go through the pain of the 7.0 patch grinds I loved it personally) Level 110 2018 Battle for Azeroth (Kul Tiras and Zandalar, two zones we'd seen on maps and in promotional posters and artwork for years, they had been in instruction booklets for Warcraft 3 or WoW can't remember which or if both, we asked and asked about these zones for years and were given spin answers in Cataclysm, they teased Zandalari as they were in vanilla for one of the catch up raids as quest givers, they returned and were enemies in Cataclysm and we fought them in Mists of Pandaria when they reawakened The Thunder King who was a raid boss in one of the raid patches, we finally got them as a playable race for Horde, they heavily referenced Wakanda from Black Panther and let trolls be paladins which a lot of people find weird, halfway through the story took a weird split and we dealt with an Old God named N'zoth in the 8.3 patch but it started as a heavy Horde vs Alliance story, they kind of tried to tell two expansion stories in one and it went poorly, also did another "Artifact Item system with the Heart of Azeroth, just like the Artifact Weapon from Legion it became a useless paper weight in the next expansion) Level 120 2020 Shadowlands (The Shadowlands, Despite seeing the Shadowlands before in quests and it being more less like a spirit realm but a reflection of the same zones and worlds from all the expansions this time they made it another dimension with new lands entirely, the "Afterlives", started with strong ideas, it was marketed almost like "Wrath of the Lich King 2" unfortunately due to shit going on in 2020 it didn't play out that way and like Warlords they cut a lot of stuff out of it they had planned, they were going to call back to other factions we had met and all kinds of stuff and it didn't happen, this is when they did THE LEVEL SQUISH, they had done a stat squish in Warlords, an item level and stat squish in BFA and in Shadowlands they did all 3, character level 120 became 50 and the new 50-60 was Shadowlands itself, it also kind of had nostalgia being 60 again and item level ranges for raiding and endgame were very similar to Wrath era ilvls, like 200/213/226 etc) Level 60 2022 Dragonflight (Dragon Isles, another place that appeared way back in early WoW development and it's name was mentioned many times and it was teased for literally a couple of decades at this point, first time I didn't hit max level in a WoW expansion, I hear it was good, the story was a bit Disney for me but the Dragonflights themselves had good stories, they did tie up some things and do good shit for the dragon characters, there were cool new loose story threads they spun out to expand on later here, I saw some of it just not all of it, didn't do a single dungeon or raid that expansion 2024+ The War Within (Khaz Algar, the first part in the World Soul Saga which is bold AF and I'm really happy Chris Metzen is back, he's like the godfather of TONS of lore since Warcraft 2 and he voices like....everyone, he voices Thrall, Varian, Ragnaros, a shitload of generic NPCs, Nefarian tons of other named characters and hell he even voiced shit for Diablo, Starcraft and Overwatch, really talented dude in my opinion and so far he seems to be steering WoW back on the right course, War Within is my favorite expansion since what little of Legion I got to play and the future for WoW looks pretty badass, I'm back in it full force with my wife and a bunch of our friends and streamer friends Note: The earliest point you can start in chronological story timeline is Outland for questing, you might not find people doing the Group Quests and you won't do those original raids at level because the scaling systems that were added years later and also because nobody is running that content anymore. Even if you found a bunch of people to do it at the appropriate level to match BC equivalent the skills and talents that were added, changed or removed not to mention classes that weren't from that actual expansion like death knights, monks, demon hunters (despite being in the lore in the game as non playable characters at the time) and evokers all that shit is so different especially with like 9 expansions and 17 years of expansions that it's not it's actual difficulty level, some fights or mechanics might not even work right anymore and might even have tons of bugs You got the right idea going back and OPing old raids like Blackwing Lair is from 2005 vanilla WoW, we all make speed run builds and gear sets for that, that's sadly the fate of all raids until they do something better with Timewalking, we do have Black Temple from BC, Ulduar from Wrath and Firelands from Cata as "Timewalking Raids" where you do them and get scaled down, but still with new talents, skills and classes it sometimes gets slaughtered, some fights are harder or easier than the original and it's not perfect, what is cool is you get Timewarped gear from that version and when you come back to present it's like good gear you'd get from higher dungeons or at least entry level raid gear, the only way to see the pre-Cataclysm version of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor is to play Classic Era or if you had caught Classic Burning Crusade or Classic Wrath, the main run of Classic is already back up to Cataclysm after the world change, you could still play on Classic Era but some of those servers are dead because they already raided their way through all the re-release patches in the "Phases" they did and are waiting for a "fresh start", Hardcore is rough cos you die you lose your guy, Season of Discovery is a fun experiment but isn't true vanilla as it has Runes that give originally cancelled abilities or altered versions of abilities from later expansions and has content and areas that neither vanilla or the expansions had Classic Era is the only way you'll see 40 level 60s taking on Ragnaros in Molten Core or Nefarian in BWL or currently in Cataclysm Classic 10 or 25 level 85's taking on Nefarian (again) in Blackwing Descent which was like a sequel raid to Blackwing Lair, really hoping for Mists of Pandaria Classic myself cos I got to 90 then sat out the expansion cos I was a raging hater at the time, played at the ass end and only did Raid Finder versions of the raids and regretted not being in a guild, I was hyped again for Cataclysm Classic but it kind of lost me this time, it's love/hate for Cata honestly, it is funny that Molten Core's final boss from vanilla, Ragnaros is gonna be a current boss again in 3 versions of WoW, In Season of Discovery or SoD he's the big boss right now as Motlen Core is a current raid in that, in Cataclysm Firelands is coming out which is where we had the rematch with him in his own dimension, and in the 20 year anniversary event in Modern, The War Within patch 11.0.5 on the 20th will have him as the final boss of a raid version of Blackrock Depths (normally a 5 man dungeon)
Man, there's really alot to this game lol, thanks for the awesome list homie, gonna reread this one so it really sinks in! But ya I'm learning more and more that I can't really experience things like you guys did so I'm structuring things to more so of: watch more lore videos and start TWW. I still plan on questing through the old expansions bc the questing really is enjoyable in this game, get mounts and mogs from the raids and dungeons. And thanks for the lore on the original dks, never knew they were orc warlocks, though lt they could have been knights from the early games or something lol, they seem to be my favorite class but then again I haven't played all classes yet:p
@@lordderecho DKs are wild man, they were always kind of OP too, especially in Wrath. Really hoping for another run of BC Classic cos I missed the one from 2021. That video from Hidden Azeroth I told ya about will set things in order, cos there's SO MUCH shit to learn in this.
