Mark Rowland - Immersive Music of the Mind: Set 1 - Live from The Cone Room 2015

IMMERSIVE MUSIC OF THE MIND
An extraordinary one-off immersive soundscape performed by Musician / Producer / DJ, Mark Rowland, at The Cone Room foyer to World of Glass, St.Helens.
Rich tapestries of industrial and ambient electronica set against the organic backdrop of The Cone. This was once a hub of activity in the industrial age and today Mark breathed new life into this dormant space.
Since working as part of the Smirnoff ‘Mindtunes’ project with DJ Fresh, Mark Rowland joined the ‘Access All Areas’ project set up by Valley Community Theatre, funded by Arts Council England to provide musicians with professional recording studio time, rehearsal space and live performance assistance.
Mark describes his music as a fusion of different styles from Ambient, Techno, House, Break-beat and Drum & Bass.
Mark has Cerebral Palsy but clearly demonstrates that barriers are simply there to be overcome. Mark and the team use the latest Soundbeam 5 technology to underpin the project. This enables people with limited movement to generate tones simply by interjecting the invisible sonar beam, this is then linked to the recording equipment and manipulated for a desired effect.
I for one can't wait for Mark's next performance and I'd love to hear him collaborate with the likes of Amorphous Androgynous / FSOL; Jerome Froese; Marconi Union or Radio Massacre International.
