I found myself looking forward to and in equal measure, dreading Prof Appold's next witticism. But the resounding 'explosion' which each witticism detonated, was a small price for a scintillating Lecture. For one who has to conjure a 10,000 word dissertation on 'Luther and his Music', this was a godsend.
