  • Joshua has chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), a rare neurological disorder that causes progressive weakness and has impacted his movement and coordination. After a recent surgery, Joshua was admitted to Blythedale for rehabilitation therapies but in order to change the volume or the channel on his TV, he'd have to wait for a member of the Blythedale staff to help him.
With the assistance of his occupational therapist and a consultation with Blythedale's Assistive Technology team, Joshua was introduced to Puck, a smart remote that allows him to control his TV through Bluetooth technology and an app on his phone or tablet.
Already a tech wiz, Joshua instantly downloaded the app and started flipping through his favorite channels, Nickelodeon and the Disney channel.
