I'm doing mostly events for my work, living on the 24, 35 and 50... Currently in the process of switching fields to portraiture and editorials, been advised to get an 85 or 100/105 on top of my 35 and 50. I'm god damn fuming right now, because for the last week, I've been looking and asking all around, only to boil down my choices to the Batis 1,8/85 and Sigma 1,4/105... Wish I did more individual shots with people, because right now I have absolutely no idea what to go with, I'm struggling... Heard you say you tried/owned a lot of lenses, so what would you recommend? 1,8/85 from Zeiss or 1,4/105 from Sigma?
I never owned the 105 1.4 but sigma always make great lenses. For the few zeiss I’ve owned, the batis is incredible though. I use that and a 24-70 and 17-28 and that’s all for all weddings now. So sharp and great colours! Worth the extra for that 1.8!!
@@JonSparkman Thanks for the answer, I'm also leaning towards the Batis more, will ask around more just to confirm, don't want to deal with buying the wrong lens - I'm lazy like that. I was also looking at the Zeiss Otus 1,4/100, I have the money but that price is just not justifiable in any way, shape or form, so that's out of the equation for sure.
