  • In Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district, villagers are confronting severe flooding caused by a significant rise in the water levels of the Ghagra river. The river has surged well beyond the danger mark, leading to widespread inundation of farmlands and homes across the region.
Local residents are facing dire circumstances, with inadequate evacuation measures exacerbating their plight. Expressing frustration, villagers have pointed out that only one boat is available for transportation between two villages, which is insufficient to accommodate all those needing to be relocated. This logistical challenge has forced villagers to travel long distances for essential supplies like food and water, further complicating their situation.
One villager, Shyam Bihari, voiced the hardships faced by the community, revealing the personal toll of the disaster. "My daughter is sick, and I am traveling to get medicine for her," he lamented, highlighting the urgent need for more effective relief efforts amidst the ongoing flood crisis in Gonda.
