Music alone is worth the price of admission. Game is good too, and it even uses parallax scrolling for the city background!. The C64 keeps amazing me all the time.
I don't know why but this game felt to me as if it was a NES game. Also it shows how superior the music on the C64 was to everything else, and how responsive those games were.
Considering the C64's lack of power vs arcade, this is a superb port. it scrolls smoothly and has the height effect intact in the road stages. The Amiga version fails on both those accounts but has the killer soundtrack.
Yeah I remember playing it maybe a thousand times the weekend I got this game. It was very frustrating, but addictive. You basically had to learn through dying a lot exactly what to do each moment of each track.
Title screen image followed by the intro music got me so pumped for this game every time. I only recently played the arcade version on emu and I'm amazed at good a port this is.
How a c64 title screen song managed to capture Tokyo Drift-esque levels of cool and exhilarating are just impossible for me to wrap my head around. That's just Tim Follin for you, i guess.
one of my favorite games converted from those genes of software creations ...... more music by Tim Follin .... result: great games. thanks zeus greetings from italy ;)
I used to load this just to hear the fantastic music.the original bread bin version of the c64 had the best sounding sid chip.the game played great too.i played it tons but very quickly becomes damn right impossible without cheat for fuel Great use of the c64 hardware and showed it was a very capable machine when the time was taken The amiga port was ruined by piss poor scrolling to start with and small gameplay area. No Parallax. Just another lazt st port
It's basically a music disk with an game included.
Ha, yeah you could say that ;-)
Arcade version's music sucks..

7:08 ... just love this part of that tune in particular! It makes you wanna go fast!

Best c64 music ever!
What a pool skill
First stage Ultimate Stuntman looks like this game.
Did they have to pay royalties to Deep Purple?

I did love the Amiga music though, the electric guitar was awesome.
Maybe the 8 bits better version
