Followed Nottingham Forest for 43 years & this is definitely one of my favourite Forest teams of all time so many great players who give everything, I hope we can secure European football this season 🙏🏻
Marinakis has been AMAZING as an owner. Ignoring all the inconsequential stuff around him, his decision making since promotion has been immaculate when it comes to the important decisions, even down to taking an extra 20 million for Johnson and taking a points deduction.
For me as a Forest fan of 47 years. This is the best team I have seen in 30. The Frank Clarke era. The togetherness in this team, the club and fans is as real as it was then. U REDS! 🔴⚪️
Not only is Marinakis involved with supporting the team in person he is also committed to the connection with the whole city. Like his home club Olympiakos he pushes for the club to be fully integrated with the community. Non of this is reported in the press but it is fully appreciated by the supporters.
Playing without the ball is incredibly tough and mentally draining but Forest seem to be very comfortable in that shape and the ability to spring quickly into transition has been vital. I think you’re correct to highlight the signing of Milenkovic, our defending of set plays compared to previous seasons fully backs that up. Big clubs have paid much bigger money for defenders who have the traits and abilities that he brings to a team and that is indicative of how much the scouting and transfer policies have improved over the seasons Forest have been back in the Premier League. It looked haphazard at the start, which it was, but when you consider Milenkovic (£12m), Murillo (£13m), Hudson-Odoi (£3m), Aina (free), Anderson (£15m, factoring in Vlachodimos going the other way for £20m) and Sels (£7m) all for less than what the club received for Brennan Johnson, it really does show the astute business that Forest have been (more) quietly putting together. All that said, a part of me will still be massively relieved when we get to 40 points! 😂 Great video, enjoyed that one
We should never forget Navas who enabled us to stay in prem (ok other players obviously did, but Navas coming to Forest was so strange to see at the time). Now Sels is looking ao solid, nuno being a keeper himself it is no surprise. COYR.
A very good analysis from a non supporter. Glad to see the M and M connection at the back getting the right recognition. Another key point would be the team spirit. The dessing room is magical right now
This season of the domestic football really followed the same script happened the last season where such an unpredictable teams can perform better. In the Premier League, let's not forget about Bournemouth, who defeated Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Manchester United this season (they had even beat Manchester United 3-0 twice in a row at Old Trafford right now!), and are currently battling in the European Football spots! In the La Liga, even though Atletico Madrid might be the major headline given the fact they are now sitting on top of the league table, we couldn't ever rule Athletic Club de Bilbao out of the title race. They are playing very well in both La Liga and the Europa League with the Williams Brothers (Nico and Inaki). I think Bilbao will definitely upset the Spanish Football at the end by making through the Champions League spot and winning the Europa League (this season's finale was even held at their own ground). In the Bundesliga, things looked very intense with Eintracht Frankfurt still in contention of the title race, despite the fact most people wanted another exciting race between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. And finally, let's not forget about how exciting Serie A title race this season as reigning Europa League winners Atalanta have shared the top spot on the league table with Napoli and Inter Milan, while Fiorentina and Lazio continue to threaten the Champions League spot for the aforementioned 3 teams.
Quite an enjoyable and balanced opinion. I think Forest’s success is due to a fantastic spine of the team combined with a genuine team ethic and backed up by great tactical nous from the management. Team spirit does seem to be missing from a lot of the traditional top 6 teams which also helps!
Arne and Nuno are blasting their teams into the stratosphere this season. I’m a long time Liverpool supporter, but Forest has my attention. I also don’t know if they can stay in the Top 4, but they could go and win the Europa League or Europa Conference.
Modern mid Block that is the name of the tactic we use mostly. I studied a lot of games I played football manager and I saw the predefined tactics and in real life we have some good moments with direct counter attacks when we are in low block (but not as many low blocks as last years) and some moments (not many minutes maybe 15 per game in total) when we can control the tempo with our passing with midfielders. But we clearly don t like this tactic with the players. The majority of the time I see a tactic that isn t specified in football games and I fell that is a particular thing for nuno. We defend in middle not in our 16, we put pressure but not a volcanic one without great intensity and we like to play as a moving block with players being able to sustain concentration and to fill the gaps when is needed. (For example if Murrilo has one of his Brazilian moments and whats to dribble the whole team and to shot.) god I hope he will succeed one day with this one.
First off beautiful video and thank you for it. UCL is a little bit of a stretch personally i would be satisfied with conference league football and build from there against the lower teams in European football. Milenkovic is the signing of the season bar none he is the concrete that holds that defence together. Like you said with Spurs, both Manchester teams struggling it's perfect for us to challenge for European football.
Marinakis is a top bloke and respected for his football achievements yet you feel more l inclined to tell fans of some allegations in Greece. Deserves better.
Been a RED since 1977 No not a communist 😂😂😂 Am loving this right now but we must not take anything for granted YYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUU RRRRRRRRRREDDDDDDDDDDSSSSS ♥️🏐🥅⚽👏
Forest now in 2nd place 👏👏
Nottingham Forest in champions league again will be magical.
In football history always repeats itself.
Big respect to a Liverpool fan for this fair and unbiased view of my team. Thanks

Is the R for rangers? I'm genuinely curious

As a Portuguese it makes me very happy with Nuno and Marco Silva
Vitor Pereira also started well, only Ruben is having a tough time
Milenkovic has been one of the best signings this season!!
I was praying for Nottingham to send him to us (Olympiacos) on loan when he signed. Hes insanely good.
For anybody, not just for Forest.
people think this is a flash in the pan - FOREST ARE BACK

We now have a great manager and even better owner. Cooper was fantastic in getting us to the premier league and deserves special recognition too.

Great video, Milenkovic has lifted Forest to another level and Murillo has improved playing next to him.

Love your video. As you are a Liverpool fan it’s refreshing to hear the praise to an up and coming football team.
Great video mate I would be absolutely ecstatic of my team got into Europe. It really is a pleasure watching them at the moment YOU REDSSSSS!!!!
As a Derby fan, GG Forest.
Was u the derby fan who rang talksport 😂
@@davidmarchant9386😂😂 was just about to say this
Back when Forest were conquering Europe, I'll always remember my Dad praising Forest and he was a Derby fan.
spent 24 yrs watching the EPL n wishing to see Forest up there, great coach and good squad so we wish them a good season
It would be nice to see Forest win the Premier League.I'm kinda getting tired of the same six teams winning the prem.

Forest have had some great goalkeepers over the year. Peter Grumitt, the fantastic Peter Shilton and Mark Crossley.
HANS VAN BREUKLAN ⚽🥅🏐👏
Chris Woods (the goalkeeper)

Brilliant assessment Mike, you nailed it and I admire your respect & knowledge regarding our history.
A very good, well informed video 👍🏻

You know your football, thanks for this
No surprise they have a bald manager. Bald managers are smart
Ten Hag.........
It's because you can see their brain more isn't it.
Ancelotti isn’t bald he’s very smart
Brian Clough ,Matt Busby , Sir Alf Ramsey to name just 3 great managers who full heads of hair.!
That's because you can see their brain more.
You better believe it young man!
Thanks!
They have more points now than they did the entirety of last season
We will make Europe and we will handle next season very we'll FOREST Have got 23yrs of experience of playing 3 games a week....ie we are used to it❤🌲
