If you want to talk about all rounders I’d say the whole group is. the rapper can sing the singers can rap like crazy they’re all amazing dancers but the ones who excel in it are Wheein and Moonbyul. Most moomoos do say Wheein is the underrated ace and the more you get into them and their moments and their live performances you’ll see both Moonbyul and Wheein really tying in a lot of their harmonies. The artists choose a song from that episodes legend to perform and will typically re-arrange the song to fit their style or modernize it. Mamamoo has been on 14 (?) times and has won 3 (?). The medley you’ll be watching consists of several songs they performed (and won with) on the show. I highly recommend watching the full performances on your own (or reacting to for Patreon) as they get blocked on UA-cam but are AMAZING. It's so cool that you felt like they're relatable even with limited exposure. I think they really are different when it comes to the whole 'kpop ideal' or whatever, if you watch any of their behind the scenes stuff or like their mini adventures you can tell they're really cool normal people. (I mean obviously there's things they don't show etc etc) I feel like especially with girl groups they for some reason often have these stage personalities where they always acting 'cutesy' and very often don't voice their real opinions, so mamamoo at least for me is a really special group-

Hopefully one day you'll react to their solo stages from their 4S4C concert, first time I saw it, it blew my mind. Aya is really interesting because as you said it's not as angry as Egotistic. I take it as a song about removing the lingering feelings for a lover and I think they chose the Arabian Nights set & costumes as a way of expressing the seductive power of the romantic stories we tell ourselves when we fall in love. So just like Scheherazade's fantastic stories each member role plays an outrageous character finding her own solution to getting over the relationship. As Hwasa's dominatrix dentist shows, extracting our feelings for that person from our hearts is painful but necessary. Moonbyul feels attacked (the shafts of light) and responds by killing her feelings with an arrow. Wheein feels oppressed and manipulated (belly dancer outfit, veils, hats, dark makeup) and expresses her liberation from the shadows by magically lighting up all the lamps with a candle. Solar is the most confusing because she combined a unibrow inspired by Frida Kahlo with an Asian ghost. Young female ghosts are thought to be haunted by feelings of lost love. Frida Kahlo became a successful artist and grrl power icon despite living in pain due to an accident where her pelvis was impaled when she was a teenager. I think Solar combined the two to produce the final scene where she ritualistically impales the bowl of her tears with a dagger to exorcize her lingering feelings.
Mamamoo is in the odd position of being one of the most respected groups in kpop yet they haven't achieved the commercial success or global recognition you would expect. You can't say they're not successful but their album sales are a small fraction of the most popular groups' albums. They are revolutionary in many ways and they're a truly iconic group but compared to what they deserve as one of the best girl groups to ever grace the planet I'd agree that they're underrated. I think they're taken for granted by kpop fans.

For context: Immortal Songs is a show/competition meant to honor a legendary person in music each episode (singers, song writers, producers, etc). The artists choose a song from that episodes legend to perform and will typically re-arrange the song to fit their style or modernize it. Mamamoo has been on 14 (?) times and has won 3 (?). The medley you’ll be watching consists of several songs they performed (and won with) on the show.
I highly recommend watching the full performances on your own (or reacting to for Patreon) as they get blocked on UA-cam but are AMAZING. Especially considering that they went on very early in their career and it is one of the ways they began to gain popularity
They are also the ones who has the most wins for a kpop group.

It's so cool that you felt like they're relatable even with limited exposure. I think they really are different when it comes to the whole 'kpop ideal' or whatever, if you watch any of their behind the scenes stuff or like their mini adventures you can tell they're really cool normal people. (I mean obviously there's things they don't show etc etc) I feel like especially with girl groups they for some reason often have these stage personalities where they always acting 'cutesy' and very often don't voice their real opinions, so mamamoo at least for me is a really special group-

I don't even know where to start. First of all, I was SO EXCITED to see a privated video on your mamamoo playlist and this marathon was like wow happy birthday to me!! I can't wait for the Immortal Songs Medley reaction...it's a deal-sealer. Second, Solar has been pole dancing ever since the Egotistic MV and there are some insane live performances including one where she sings Despacito while spinning on the pole. yup. Third, Moonbyul writes most of her rap parts and is one of the the highest credited female idols in Kpop, which makes every single Moonbyul verse feel like a holy experience.

Hopefully one day you'll react to their solo stages from their 4S4C concert, first time I saw it, it blew my mind. Their company really hit the jackpot by picking 4 talented individuals that can do it all, added bonus that all 4 of them have insane stage presence that not everyone have. These women are just amazingly talented, I'm glad more and more people are discovering them thanks to YT channels like this.

Solar is a great combination of Hwasa's Sexiness and Wheein's cuteness. Sometimes I can't believe it's the same person. Especially in Dingga. She's sexy in most of the video, the cutest when she does the Dingga Dingga part and a complete dork in the dance break.
