Nah. Laine is just a better talent show competitor. Laine can crush Alejandro in Karaoke. Laine will also likely fade into obscurity after one popular album since every winner is able to put out an album and have it sell. Then he will be irrelevant, like so many other past winners. Alejandro will have many albums. Perhaps they won't sell as much as Laine's first album, but he will have a long and respected career with many hits that he himself wrote. He will likely have some movie scores.
i just saw him in concert on tour with covet 3 or 4 weeks ago. he is insanely good even after being on tour for a month he still sounds amazing. hes truly an amazing artist and musician!

The show runners, the judges, and even the other contestants knew what was happening. He was given the ultimate exposure at no cost and the rewards are far more plentiful than winning this competition. He actually looked so relieved when giving Laine a congratulatory hug, and got worldwide exposure. I voted against Alejandro because AI winners don't actually have a great record of long term success and when they do, it's pretty much because they fit well into the country or pop mold. Alejandro can do pop sure but it would be pretty limiting for his level of talent. So I figured him coming in second was better for him long term.

David Kariu -Adam had to work hard at singing to get Queen to notice him again. It wasn’t immediately after. But I bet the minute Queen stops touring for good, Adam’s solo career will fade. He still only plays small clubs and small halls when not on tour with Queen. His solo music isn’t that good, even tho his voice is great. And Adam is almost 40 years now.

No, you are NOT. I was rooting for him all along and actually surprised myself when I wasn't upset about Laine winning instead. Something about Alejandros' smile immediately afterward, and his hugging Laine, he looked relieved. He achieved recognition but the biggest gain for him was confidence, which he sorely lacked at first. Now he can relax (a bit) before choosing what record label HE wants. He totally won!
Now he's free to pave a solid career in the long term, as a true artist prefers, not being struck in the AI terrible contract. And he will raise a huge money as soon as he drops out his album, make videos and go tour, cause millions are already begging to buy it, just the way nowadays producers are looking for. Making to the finals has made possible to use AI's national TV time at the maximum to premarket the whole package. What it seems to be bad now, is the best thing could ever happen to him, actually. I voted against Alejandro because AI winners don't actually have a great record of long term success and when they do, it's pretty much because they fit well into the country or pop mold. Alejandro can do pop sure but it would be pretty limiting for his level of talent. So I figured him coming in second was better for him long term.

But I bet the minute Queen stops touring for good, Adam’s solo career will fade. He still only plays small clubs and small halls when not on tour with Queen. His solo music isn’t that good, even tho his voice is great. And Adam is almost 40 years now.

No, you are NOT. I was rooting for him all along and actually surprised myself when I wasn't upset about Laine winning instead. Something about Alejandros' smile immediately afterward, and his hugging Laine, he looked relieved. He achieved recognition but the biggest gain for him was confidence, which he sorely lacked at first. Now he can relax (a bit) before choosing what record label HE wants. He totally won!
Now he's free to pave a solid career in the long term, as a true artist prefers, not being struck in the AI terrible contract.
And he will raise a huge money as soon as he drops out his album, make videos and go tour, cause millions are already begging to buy it, just the way nowadays producers are looking for.
Making to the finals has made possible to use AI's national TV time at the maximum to premarket the whole package.
What it seems to be bad now, is the best thing could ever happen to him, actually.
That's why I'm happy for Laine as well. As a talented, but ordinary singer, this is the best he can reach.

Idol has done nothing but praise him too much. He's not a good singer and his songs weren't that well put together. It made the judges look dumb.
