3:13 has some weird cheat unit walkin down the screen, I guess it's monkey head or smth, or it is a glitch. Although the 2:37 has another cheat unit, that people can miss: it's the Mangudai... well Mangudais.
The new drop off button helped me go up 200 elo with Chinese from 1100 to 1300. Just love The civ. As long as I finish the game early Chinese is amazing
funny how the Chinese were nerfed with the lowered tech discount and then jumped right back at #1 with the quality-of-life improvement that is the drop-off button
The auto drop-off IS the life saver of the chinese start, in my experience how well timed can you drop off food at the dark age literally defines how your chinese would performes in the entire game, it's so easy to get your vill production blocked because you didn't drop off the food a couple seconds early.
According to Aoe2 stats, goes: 1. Romans 2. Vikings 3. Hindustanis 4. Huns 5. Persians However, this is likely a very different meta to tournaments 🏆 with different pathing. All the top civs in this list are cavalry or anti-cavalry civs (Romans and Vikings have great Spearmen).
You looked at all Elos tho. Im sure Hera looks at it from a 2.200 elo+ perspective. And most people play on low elo, and most low elo people play cav civs and just deathball mass cav into the enemy. So for me its logical anti cav melee civs do good in low elo. Or do i miss smth?
Now do the top 5 off-meta civs. The ones where you execute a crazy plan and have the biggest chances of winning. Oh and of course call MbL for that video, just like you called Liereyy for the archers video.
Georgians being on this list is not surprising. I played them post-patch recently in a 4v4 game with 8 AIs, and they felt extremely meta. They're in a much better place now with the normal start, and the Fortified Church economy boost is going to make them so strong, along with the improved cavalry healing. I don't think they're gonna be bottom 5 anymore.
Hey me again with the cheat unit 8:15 a dragon appears from the bottom left corner btw great video! love the editing how it zooms in slowly it also makes it way harder to spot these kinds of things. Ty for the video, it was a lot of fun to watch and spot!
Georgians are so slept on, they are insane, you get such a fast and consistent start, you can easily shut down any infantry aggression with amazing boom potential and the healing is absolutely broken in feudal age.
It's funny to me watching people talk about how broken the "drop off" mechanic is, but starcraft 1 has it since released over 20 years ago (of course that warcraft 2 has it as well)
I love a New way to open georgians: go right away to deers with 4 vills with the mule cart, go all food in dark age: u can up witb 18-19 pop, no loom and scouting your opponent completely
I absolutely would not call the drop off resources command broken. It still requires your attention to drop off at the right time and its only saving ≈seconds of idle time. It's not changing your elo dramatically and it matters to you way more because you are doing crazy optimizations, really tight timings and developing new builds
There's another indirect nerf to Monaspas (which is only relative to playing knights or cavaliers, not overall) that hasn't been mentioned: Since the heal is now a percentage of the overall health, cavaliers with 140 HP profit more from the heal than monaspas at 110 HP.
Georgians: I guess you can just mix in the Monaspas with your knights (assuming you already got a castle)? As long as there are enough knights nearby, they also get the bonus, right? Or would you say with the fortified churches you don't even need castles?
Thats three separate questions that are nearly impossible to answer. -Yes the game allows Monaspas to coexist in your army with knights. Yes you need a castle to make them. If your question is "should you make knight and monaspas?" then: It depends. -Knight nearby where? What bonus? The Monaspas stack attack or cavalry healing? What are asking? Look the answer up online if its a simple question about a civ. -Whether you need or want a castle in any given game is not something anyone can answer in a vacuum. It depends. This is like me asking you if I should make some throwing axemen. No game as an example. Just, do you think it would be good alongside my (context needed) to fight (context needed) when they make (context need) and the rest of my army is (context needed)? I'm (context needed) in resources and the game is in the (context needed) age with (context needed) having the advantage. Thoughts?
@@NowhereMan7 Thanks for the answer. The context was Hera saying that Georgians are good, but the Monaspa's spamming ability got nerfed, so you should rather go for knights instead of mainly Monaspas. I was then thinking of the bonus which Monaspas have for being near other Monaspas and knight-line units - that still works if you have both. (Note: I don't even play the game, I just watch people playing it (and talking about it) on UA-cam.)
Interesting tier list, but I don't see Georgians ahead of Khmer or Vietnamese, especially when it comes to two-unit meta in both feudal and castle (e.g. skirm-scout, knight-xbow, etc.).
It was a hot take but idk, georgians feel insane but a bit hard to play. Id take them over khmer for sure atm, and id personally like them over viet but its close
The only problem with portuguese is that in post imperial age they lose all the gold and go into severe debt, on the other hand when they get to modern age they get super strong in terms of food production and will win any game by causing severe obeseness in the opponents that visit their bases

You are right! It's the naked villager from the monkey head cheat, well spotted
Good eye, respect!
man,, I watched this like 8 times because I wanted the tagged comment so I could ask hera for a empire wars - team play best civ tier list :(

They did get the extra house per tc making their start very smooth tbf

@hera how do you do the auto drop off on xbox?
Only 4 views after 2.7 seconds 😔 Hera truly has fallen off
yea it's over, he's done man... It's super serial
hes not being himself lately...
back to league :(
Washed up
People saying i peaked at hc5 and falling off ever since, what a shame it looked like i had a promising career

Romans are insanely strong in all elo ratings, but people just don't want to buy them I guess. Glad I don't see them to often as opponent.

@@mars.unreal That is basically what he said.
Roman's wreck at my Elo of around 800
Sotl made a video about this recently too
I was JUST watching a tierlist by you and this video popped up! You read my mind!
Also first comment
HE LISTENS! THANK YOU FOR THE EAGLE GUIDE HERA

Saracens, they do the weirdest strategies with the market. Tatoh loves it.

Not a cheat unit
What are you smoking, I want some 😂

The Mayans!! Love when my civilization gets love!
I think Vietnamese is an underrated meta civ, among the few archer civ with nice cav and nice eco
For the Chinese players, perfect first Drop is on 00:38 for 52 food and u can build your first villager. Dont forget to click loom before

hhmmmm.... Thats alot of bushes... 3:45
5:25 The Mayans have been broken since release.
Are you sure Mayans are better than viet and khmer? Be it lengthy feudal, the eco or the lategame...

@@HeraAgeofEmpires2 They give the vibe of Poles, but pros "discovered" Georgians earlier (and a bit less flexible).
Whats your opinion on Persians and Magyars?
Dude, Huns are the nr. 1 civ on arabia!
What about Magiars in team games?
Dejen su Like
Please, leave your thumbs up

The thing is porto will always have gold with fetorias
Daut was right. The force drop off Hotkey has spoiled me 😂
anybody experienced higher lagg after the new patch?

No more Malians?
Would the auto drop-off negate the Aztecs resource gather bonus?
Aztec bonus more for wood cutters and farmers anyways, so no doesnt affect anything
It actually makes the bonus stronger since Aztecs have to force-drop food more often in the early game compared to most civs.
Nice video
I want some changes for my romans
Do you have a PhD in AoE2?
Pretty much
His thesis professor is Spirit of the Law for sure .
No mention of Persians?
i was waiting in chat today hoping youd boot up stream LOL
SOOOOOOOOO,
that -1 ville + 50 food start... is anyone still going to complain about that?
what about khmers?
Very close, they just have bad matchups against cav civs
Hmm no Gurjaras...??... 🧐
M A G Y A R S
why is Mongols not #1 if Hera said it's the best civ in the game on arabia?
Georgians jumping up to top 5 is a hot take. I thought their win rate last patch was pretty bad.
It is a hot take for sure, since its off opinion with no stats to back it but im pretty confident about it
You can't spell cavalry civ without Mayans.
❤
7:20 is my guess, whatever those 5 knights are for Hindustani should be cheat units
Those are cav archers
aoestats for elo 1900+, arabia 1v1: 1. Malay, 2. Chinese, 3. Slavs, 4. Hindustanis, 5. Franks... 9. Mayans... 12. Mongols ... 32. Georgians ... 35. Portuguese
How are Georgians a top 5 Arabia civ when they have the lowest win rate in the game?
Britons 😫🥺🥺😭
Top 10 comment!
China number #1

You beat me by 1 second
Chinese

Kinda close tho.
@@mars.unreal 3/5 right. And another one is at honorable mention.
