The "story" of The Jimmy Lloyd Songwriter Showcase is the ultimate example of necessity being the mother of invention. This is as grassroots as it gets. This is the ever-evolving, real-life drama of a small group of songwriters and media outsiders who created an opportunity to address one of the simplest, yet most challenging problems facing songwriters and musicians today... How do you make the world know who you are so that your music can be heard?
Episode 9 - Segment 3 - Jonatha Brooke - Performance and Interview - The Jimmy Lloyd Songwriter Showcase - NBC TV
Jonatha performs her song "Taste Of Danger" and is then interviewed by Jimmy Lloyd.
there's an angel on my shoulder, but the devils got the wheel. genius lyric.
I love Jonatha. She’s a natural and blew me away. And what lyrics!
She deserves so much more notoriety. Unbelievable musician and cool as hell.
It is so refreshing to hear music that tells a story, comes from the heart, with a melody that touches your soul. Great tune and beautiful delivery. Thanks Jonatha.
Great song and superb voice ; "There's an angel on my shoulder but the devil's got the wheel." what a great line ; love it !
She is a crazy talented musician, singer, songwriter. The songs are gems of interesting and sometimes angular melodies, chords and rhythms. Hell, I still listen to "Dog Dreams" from her days with "The Story". A true gem. :-)
Amazing. I hope to see her live one day!
Love her music and voice. Plumb is my favorite album
Her songs bring me to tears too. And Jimmy, your job as an interviewer is more than just asking questions. Reacting, conversing is important too.
She's very good!
If I had four mouths I could not say enough good things about Jonatha Brooke. She is a diamond and a giant.
so coool
Jonatha's the best. Plays Linger on Letterman wearing red leather pants and a thrift store Starsky and Hutch t-shirt. Then comes on a Gibson sponsored show and plays an Olsen 15 years later. Not a household name, but everyone in the music industry knows who she is.
Looks like a sexy librarian who swings an unbelievable Olson and does well with it, phewww.......gotta go now down to my public library and check out some books.
Jonatha is one of the greats, and a folk rock touchstone, so why is she dressing like a Long Island grandmother?
