    Old wheaties come in lower than the newer ones. Pennies are all over on these new Minelab. Fat Indian heads come in low to. I did a VDI numbers test on my channel.

    Impressive! Can';t wait to get my Manticore. I called every silver coin you dug. I have a lot of experience with silver digging over 900 in the last three years :) The Manticore is like a more powerful Nox.

    Would you trade the 3030 for a manticore? Or there isn't much difference. It seemed to me that the manticore is very unstable (VDI). When choosing a device, it confuses me that the 3030 is an old device, unlike a manticore, and a complex settings menu. Everything is simpler in the manticore, but the screen is not so informative and fewer frequencies are used. Which of the two devices would you choose if you would take the device in 2023?

      It would be unfair to make that judgement call after just one time out with the Manticore and having hundreds of hours on the CTX. The jumpy VDI could have been due to improper ground balance by me or turning on auto tracking. I'm not sure if others using it have had jumpy VDI's as well or not. I'll do some more adjustments and see if I can get it tuned in. It did find quite a few old coins on the first day out and a very deep dime so that's a plus in my book but then again I was just pretty much digging any repeatable signal whether it was jumpy VDI or not which wouldn't benefit cherry pickers much. Despite what the Minelab rep said I do believe stock coil vs stock coil the Core is probably deeper than CTX because I wasn't even close to maxed out on sensitivity and nailed that deep dime. In any case I'd never sell my CTX. It was 48 yesterday and now snow on the ground today so it will be a bit before I get a second go at it. Northern Illinois crazy weather.

      @@DiggingInIllinois For everyone who held a manticore (UA-cam) in their hands, VDI is unstable. And this is not 3-4 points, but VDI jumps through dozens of values. Probably if there is only one signal on the 2D map, and the VDI value is good, but different, then dig in any case. But it is not clear how to work with the mask, the signal will skip.
      In the manticore, the shape of a small object can be determined in contrast to 3030. And in 3030, you can create a mask with closed areas to discriminate debris. They promised that they would produce two more coils for sale, a large oval and a small one.
      I heard if you remove the gray zones from the 2D map, then the device will better separate the targets. If you check it out, it'll be great.

    i enjoyed the video, i see to many other hunters digging to much iron with the Manticore, do you have a upgrade on your? could you give me the name of the shovel you have I like the length. what is your opinion between the 3030 and the Etrac?

    • @DiggingInIllinois
      @DiggingInIllinois  Рік тому

      It's the Anaconda NX-5. Built like a tank but pretty heavy. I used the Etrac for years and loved it, probably the most accurate ID in my opinion but it's outdated and processor very slow. You have to sweep extremely slow not to miss anything in parks or iron infested spots. Nox and Manticore are both amazing but the CTX is still king in my opinion but I've only had 1 day on the Core so that may change when I get it dialed in. But it just miffs me that at that high of a price point for the Core we still have the wire wrapped around the shaft where the CTX is ran neatly up through it and much sleeker looking. Core does have cam locks but not as good as the large CTX cam. And for the love of god at 1600$ why can we not get a trigger type pinpoint like the CTX has and since it's wireless technology why not a matching pinpointer that comes through the earphones like other brands have already done. These are just small things I would expect for that much money, the CTX runs more in price simply because of the added features such as the gps, geo-tracking functions where you can plug it into the PC and see every spot you walked and where you missed and where you made each find, creating custom programs and loading ones others have made through the app, etc. CTX is on the heavier side so the Nox and Core wins the weight division. They are all excellent machines and will find deep targets but if I had to choose only one to take to a site it would still be the CTX, atleast until I get a few more months on the Core and do some tweaking then we'll see.

      @@DiggingInIllinois im about to pull the trigger on one .. what would you get if you had more time with the core since your last reply ?

    • @DiggingInIllinois
      @DiggingInIllinois  Рік тому +1

      @@angelfms1 Devs said there is an update in the works for the Core so I'd probably still get it. Although, I haven't had a chance to swing the new 900 yet and I've been hearing good things about the 900. Since the second video on the Core I put out last week I've changed some settings playing with Iffy Signal's notch program, auto track off, recovery speed 5 and I like that a lot better. Been pulling some 10-12" wheats and buffalos regularly so I can't wait to see what the update does for it. It's definitely deep with that stock coil. Me and SilverChaser just got a hot new spot lined up and should have some new video soon as it warms back up a bit.

      @Digging In Illinois that's awsome I have been looking for a spot that has a manticore for sale but seems like they are all back ordered . The only one I seem to find available is the ctx 3030 I'm pretty impatient and to add to that I'm driving out for wife's bday to some beach areas in San diego I wanted to take a manticore with me . But looks like that won't happen The ctx 3030 is 2,000 more expensive than the manticore u think it's a better machine over all . Should I just get the ctx 3030 or wait ill check out your videos thanks
