I just reminded my kids that their entire armies could actually be Alpha Legion. Even when I'm not plyaing Alpha Legion. One of them plays Orks. Still not safe - they have infiltrated the Officio Assassinorum and have a Calidus agent. Your Mek is Alpharius. HYDRA DOMINATUS!
Kevin Powers This is a 40k miniature and 40k shoulder pads all from the Chaos Space Marine box. Most shoulder pads are interchangeable in terms of size though. Painting up Mark 3 or 4 Marines and Tartaros/Cataphractii Terminators as Alpha Legion works lore wise as they haven’t bought fully into the spiky chaos stuff and will likely not had access to armor beyond Mark V.
Thanks! I work very hard to make my videos appealing to both beginners and advanced painters while also making them easy to follow and very clear. I really appreciate when someone points it out
Serioulsy this is awesome mate, nice work I love it. No idea how 19 people can dislike this. It's well instrcuted, clear and concise. Love your videos my man, keep feeding us these lovely instructionals.
As I said once, you are the best tutor using contrast paints on youtube. It is not a simple flattery. On the other hand, I love the way you apply the base and the way you paint the hydra scales on each part of the armor (shoulder pads, boots, etc.). Now, waiting for those lightning bolts in the nightlords !!! 'AVE DOMINUS NOX' Congratulations!!!
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I guess my first question would be why use metallic silver as, I'm assuming, your priming layer as opposed to white or black like I see everywhere else?
I appreciate this is essentially a first for you, right? You mentioned it was trying something new. Getting that kind of result so quickly is amazing, man.
Best Alpha Legion scheme ive ever seen. The scales are immaculate, and even if they were done without, this would be so easy and good looking.I think this heavily tinted sort of TMM could work for lots of other marine chapters too! even ones that don't have metal paint but sometimes have their armor rendered more like car paint in the artwork. Also really impressed with how you do small details as well, it looks so much better than ive seen some of the "official" guides for using contrast. I have Golden Demons and this series has really made me come around on Contrasts being a great tool in the toolbox for painting armies, or even using as the first phase of characters
Thanks! That really means a lot, I really appreciate it. This started as a gun exercise to experiment and master a new tool and it's slowly become a discovery of amazing new ways of painting my armies. I'm very glad you liked my videos!
I have to say you’re a firm favourite of mine on the UA-cam channel. Your videos are entertaining and the go to reference guides for me for use of contrasts with other paints. Love the finished look for Alpha Legion. Can’t wait to see Emperor’s Children.
WOW, this is amazing! I love the result! Just a tip, it would be helpful to show your palette and now much you dilute the paint, especially metal paints. I have always trouble when diluting those GW metal paints, but it seems to me you have no problems glazing and edge highlighting with them.
Sadly i only have one camera so that is not an option, sorry. I just thin them enough so that they flow nicely of the brush and as for glazing it's the usual glazing consistency.
Can't wait to see your Emperor's Children! I thought I knew how I was going to paint mine, then I saw this, so now it is time to start painting test models again because you gave me ideas. So, on one level, thank you! On another level, curse you!
Thanks, I've been practicing brush control for while and I'm making big leaps on my painting. But I do make mistakes, lots of them, it's just a matter of not panicking and fixing them
