Every time I download one of your pieces it's like meeting an old friend, and each one becomes my favorite. I live with a rare neurological disorder that affects everything, so playing keyboards can be trying at best on some days. The organ is my favorite instrument, but the piano and your music take me to another level. Your music has given me more reason to keep practicing daily. The rhythms, counter rhythms, fingers crossing over each other and so many of your other musical traits have challenged me physically in so many ways. I can recognize any of your pieces just by listening to the left hand and it's complicated but whimsical bouncing around the keyboard on most pieces. Once you figure out that, although the left and right hands are related musically, they are really doing many different movements and melodies while moving back and forth between the hands. Overcoming the tendency to try and match them was a challenge, but now that I can feel their independence sight reading most of your music has become a delight. The Messenger is a great piece to pull out and get things started on days when I feel like I'm just starting. Thanks David! You are a genius.
