X-LIGHT/DLX+ CONSTRUCTION
At FLYSURFER Kiteboarding, we blended the SOUL’s construction with lightness and durability. The new X-Light fabric has the best qualities for maximum performance and impressive longevity. The incredibly lightweight (32g / m2) double-ripstop material, has low stretch, is highly tear-resistant as well as incredibly airtight, and provides an extremely smooth airfoil. ONE LINE RELAUNCH
The FLYSURFER development team created a new outline ensuring superb (water-) relaunch of the SOUL. We believe that foilkites will revolutionize the way of teaching and learning how to kite. Safety is a key factor and restarting your kite from to water by pulling one steering line must be similar on any kite system. The SOUL combines all the benefits of a foilkite with the same methodical relaunch of a LEI-kite to make handling as simple as possible.
IMPROVED AUTOMATIC DRAINAGE SYSTEM
Safety is a key element in the development of our products, and the automatic drainage system is an important component when it comes to trust. The interior structure and the choice of materials of a FLYSURFER closed-cell foilkite is optimized to absorb as little water as possible and, in case of a long wash or huge windhole, to ensure that it can restart. This feature separates us from the competition; enabling deep water launches and gives the customer confidence to relaunch our kites in even the lightest breeze.
MAINTENANCE - NEW BRIDLE/MIXER CHECK
The SOUL offers a wide variation of tools for maintenance. The new bridle check can be done by measuring and comparing the black marked lines at the canopy to compensate stretch or shrinkage of the bridle. The individual levels of the kite are controlled with different ratios by the Mixer and thus influence the angle of attack and the curvature of the profile. Adjustments after heavy use over years should be done to keep the products performance and ensure long-term use of the SOUL. EXPERIENCE SHORT LINES
The SOUL gives you a sublime hydrofoil experience by using short flying lines (from 12-17m, depending on the size), to allow for the fastest manoeuvres. This setup enables a more direct feel of the kite and generates less lift, which is perfect for learning a new aspect of the kitesport and adds safety whilst teaching on land or snow.

I had a firsthand experience as I had a chance to fly Soul several times . When they say "it is super easy to relaunch" I was very skeptical to say the least: - what do you expect - foil kite right? Wrong! The first time I tomahawked it, the kite went up faster than I could either start swearing or recall the instructions on how to relaunch it. After that I went mayhem, doing tricks and was dropping the kite on the water left right and center. To my disbelief, every time it relaunched just as easy if not easier as some of my beginner friendly inflatable kites, which is unheard of foil kites. Hang time and lift are unbelievable - you have a chance to run out of your favorite prayers for a safe landing while you are airborne, at least I did :-)! Airtime is times longer than inflatables! It delivered smooth predictable power across wide wind window. By far the best kite and the best experience ever! In my opinion, this kite is a new chapter in a history of this sport. Way to go good designers @ Flysurfer's !!!

is the canopy aspect ratio somewhere between Speed and earlier freeride kites I.e. Unity?
Hi Tavarahissi, the SPEED5 has a fixed AR of 6.15 for all sizes, the SOUL has an AR of 6.0 (21m) to 5.0 (6m). But this is still a lot more then a UNITY or a PULSE2. The individual AR for each sizes makes it possible to have the right AR for the wind conditions, give the best all-in-one kite for the user. The SOUL still has a lot of boosting power and performance, but can also be used for freeride/hydrofoil/lightwind very well.
Is the SOUL suggested for beginners as well? I am an intermediate on snow (can ride both directions upwind comfortably). and beginner with water (got my first rides and also able to ride upwind but not with full confidence yet). I have a 12m LEI so was looking to get a 17m for Lightwind, but now, I am attracted to the SOUL (either 15 or 18mt).
Hey Raghu, if you can ride with confidence, then the SOUL is also a kite for you, it is super easy to water relaunch and to control. Also the power delivery is very smooth and controlled, it makes for a great lightwind kite to supplement your 12m LEI.
Thanks. 2 more questions:
1. I am thinking 15mt or 18mt for LW. I weigh 190+ lbs. In-land Lakes here are not consistent winds. So lightwind suddenly picks up to higher gusts. (please suggest between 15 or 18 mt).
2. Will either of the above size Souls work with the following bar+lines setup? :

Hey Raghu, with your weight we suggest the 18m. This still overlaps fine with your 12m LEI and gets you out in very light winds already. The SOUL works with any control bar which has a front-line flag out system, so when activating the safety, all the load should go to one frontline, and the bar should be able to flag out completely, meaning the stopper knot is at least as high up to allow the wingspan of the kite to flag out safely.
Better than the sonic for big air?
