    So glad the one couple talked about being retired. We're retired and we haven't heard much about the retired community. Thanks for including them in your video!

    My husband and I just moved from California to the tree streets here in the last few days… rather, we’re staying in an Airbnb for a few days until we can move in officially. I am interested in what moms in their 30’s, or 20’s and 40’s are doing here. I look forward to making new friends here. Everyone here has mostly been very pleasant and extremely polite. The leaves and colors here are gorgeous!

      I attended etsu from 1983 through 1987. Several of us dorm buddies would go for runs down those tree streets located by campus. Jc is a beautiful little town to settle down in and take it easy.

    I was back home visiting with my denton aunts in Johnson city just 2 weeks ago. The traffic was too congested when I drove through johnson city around 2:50 p.m. and drove onto etsu campus.
    I am moving back to east end of Hawkins County by Allendale area soon to look after my 83 year old father. I am glad that area is not as congested.
    My mom grew up in the fairview community located just west of jonesborough,tn. My moms maiden name is jones. Their jones families have lived in northeast Tennessee since the 1780's around blountville and piney flats areas. Then they settled in fairview/ sulphur springs are by the 1840's.
    I graduated in 1982 from volunteer high school in church hill,tn. Hawkins county is a rougher area for certain.

      That’s great that you know about your family history dating back to 1780! Hawkins County is a beautiful area. Lots of country roads for a peaceful drive. I’m sure your Dad will be happy to have you back home. Thank you for watching our channel and commenting!

      I'm in Kokomo if you've heard of that. I'm exploring Sparta to Mountain City right now. Huge decision for sure.

      @@grissomfire mountain city and shady valley areas are beautiful. But you will have to drive a good distance into either abingdon,va or bristol,tn to get to Walmart or other shopping centers. But if you like boating or kayaking beautiful south holston lake or watsuga.lake are just a short distance away. Then it is not too far to dtive into boone,nc or grandfather mountain or over into johnson city,tn.
      Plus the Appalachian trail runs through johnson county and through carter county up by Hampton,va. Grayson highlands state park is over by Damascus va a short drive from mountain city. The wild ponies are found in that state park.

    If I have to sell my house first , before buying what do you recommend?

    • @LivinginJohnsonCityTennessee
      @LivinginJohnsonCityTennessee  3 місяці тому

      I would recommend talking with the realtor that lists your home. You may be able to do a leaseback which allows you to stay in your home for up to 60 days after you close.

    When my dad is gone I will sell his house in carter's Valley in east end of Hawkins County.
    I love it over around gray/ sulfur springs and fall branch areas as I love the rolling farmland areas. But I also love it over in Lamar and Bumpus cove areas where my dads mom grew up in the embreeville community. I could learn to fly or trout f8sg in the nolichuky river. Could also go riding atvs or 4 wheelers up in Buffalo mountain or up on the Bumpus cove mountains where the old iron ore mines use to be located in the 1800's up into almost the mid 1950's.
    My mom's sister lived down below Davey crockett high school. So I learned all of the backroads traveling between my mom's parents in fairview community on over through Leesburg crossing over hwy 11E over into Telford area where aunt amm jones morwlock lived. Then we would take backrooms from her house over through the Lamar community and travel north on cherokee road to my dad's parents house. Climgmon Denton or cling Denton road is where they lived just nearby the huge estate with pond and barn where they hold music events and weddings. Doc use to own it and my dad's brother Sheerill Denton took care of doc's place for him doing all of his mowing and taking care of the animals at the barn. The guy was a doctor in Johnson city.

      @@MICHELEDART We don’t handle rentals. Rentals with an annual lease are easier to find. Short term rentals are more challenging to find here.
