Follow me as I navigate my day in clinic as a pediatric ophthalmologist, business owner and mom of 3 kids! #workingmom #worklifebalance #professionalwoman
I enjoyed this so much! Your daughter is so comfortable with the camera and she is adorable! I was glad to hear that you take your time with the strab evals, they are so complex. It's awesome that you have a scribe! Your office is really nice too. I'm enjoying your content!
Love the day in the life! I especially appreciate how you show your work life balance! I would be very interested to see how life in the nicu is as a doctor!
I love this kind of content. I'm a wife, mom to one little boy, and a med student (taking Step 1 on 5/9!) Anything you can create that shows work/life balance is awesome. Also, what time do you usually go to bed to wake up at 4:20 AM? Thanks!
I try to go to bed by 10 pm latest. Sometimes I end up working on my other projects and go a little later. I am a morning person though! Good luck on Step 1!
LOVE THIS! I Just finished my Ophthalmology residency in the Philippines and I am contemplating whether to go for Peds or Medical Retina. You are inspiring!
@@DrRupaWong no problem, whatever you can upload is great for me. Im about a year and a half out from medical school and I like to watch lifestyle videos like yours to get an idea of specialties I may be interested in.
Here from instagram! (@izzybooks) Arya is so adorable! I loved this video and hope you continue to make more like it! I'd love to see similar videos when you're in the hospital or OR. I think it would also be fun to have a what I eat in a day / how I stay fit as a doctor video. :)
Loved! Definitely not too much kids. I think that you're very much a morning person, which is very cool if you're a doctor :D, but can I ask you how many hours do you sleeep? Is this a thing that you can also balance with the work and kids, and everything else?
Hi, Dr. Wong. Thank you for these great videos. I would love to know a little more about the structure of your clinic. So you are the working partner, then there's your husband and you have a manager who was leading the huddle. Who does what and how does it all work? Is it strictly an ophthalmology clinic? Thanks in advance.
I am SO, SO happy I found your channel!! I’m looking in to becoming an ophthalmologist, and leaning towards pediatrics, and your channel is giving me a lot of insight that I don’t have the access to. I’m, of course, very picky about the career I am going to put so much time into pursuing and spending the rest of my life doing. A day in your work/personal life seems so enjoyable! I love it! I also love your clinic. It’s so beautiful and everyone seems so sweet. Is it considered a private practice or are you in a hospital? If you have the time, I would love to ask you some questions. I’m very interested in this career, but I have so many questions haha. I’m only working on my bachelors so I have a long way to go! I hope all is going well for you and your adorable family! ❤️
@4:29 i was soo scared for a bit lol. I was watching this video on my tv, and was thinking “i can clearly see that patients information on your EMA screen lol.” But it’s not super clear
Yeah, i actually saw that when editing and made sure it was blurry and you couldn't read it before posting the video. Do you use EMA too? I actually like it. What do you think?
Dr. Rupa Wong we do use EMA in our clinic, and i love it! I’m actually going to be at the modernizing medicine user conference in Orlando Florida on the 20th to get tips and tricks on how to be more efficient in our clinic. We are learning to get more hands on with the iPad interface.
@@i_Bequeque I almost exclusively use the ipad. I love the ease and portability of it. We basically have our techs prep charts ahead of time on it it. It still has a bunch of kinks to work out for peds/strabismus, but for general and cornea (my husband), it's so easy. Have fun in Florida!
i hope everything went well with your son and his surgery. And, i'll definitely follow you on peloton. I'm #oahugirl (but i'm warning you, I'm pretty awful - bottom 1/3 of the leaderboard), but I love it !
You are such an inspiration. I'm applying to med school now and really look up to you. Wishing you all the best!
Thanks Mickey! Good luck! Hope the application process is going well.
Your daughter is super adorable.

Strab evals are my specialty. So interesting. And I don't have an orthoptist, so I have to take my time!
Love the day in the life! I especially appreciate how you show your work life balance! I would be very interested to see how life in the nicu is as a doctor!
Absolutely, I start rounding in May and will make sure to do a day.
It’s so nice to see you manage family and work. Please more day in the life’s!!!

ooh, what I eat in a day.. that's a good one! Definitely plan on doing one when I start rounding again in May and in the OR as well.

I probably get about 6-6.5 hours of sleep which is not enough. On my admin days, I catch and can get 7,
