2:42 “Parr’s Ridge”. That’s quite ironic. One of the villains in the Blair Witch series is named Rustin Parr. Hmmm. I know it’s all fiction but that’s still pretty coincidental considering it’s close to Burkittsville.
I've heard both ways on that, so I'm not really sure, and the Wik page doesn't say much. The movie producers might have done that just for "artistic license." Anyway, here's my video-which was recovered ha ha!
It's 5am in the morning, and it is sleeting and freezing rain here.... but I'm on vacation, watching your videos..... kinda' catching up. Always wondered about that ''Blair Witch'' stuff...... anything to make money, and it's always at someone else's expense. Well, onto more of your vids.....
Wow-you must be up north someplace! A year ago, here in Baltimore, we had our worst snow ever, and I was trapped for a few days! This year, just rain. The Blair Witch Project was obviously an amateurish low-budget production, but between a carefully-crafted trailer, and the producers building it up, it did alright in the theater, and later in video rental. I've seen better. But-a big Thank You for viewing! Hope I made your vacation a bit more enjoyable! And glad to hear you're viewing more! I try to keep the quality of that I do as best as I can, as I hope is evident when one views the vids. I don't just throw anything out there. I try to do it so hopefully my viewers will take something from the experience when they view. I love telling my viewers things they might not have known before, and maybe entertain them as well! Love sharing my knowledge with everyone! Thanx again! -Gus
Gus, I don't know of ANY of your videos that isn't enjoyable, and a great learning experience..... I think we'd be lost without you and your videos !!!! hope shoulder and back are doing okay.... Hugs and love to you both. Sharon Lee
Sorry about being thrown off by your new YT name and calling you Sasha! Anyway, I really do appreciate your viewing and commenting! Dolly and I send our love too! As far as my shoulder pain goes, it's gotten a bit worse, but the specialist can't see me until Feb 6! And, to make matters worse, my blood pressure's risen, and now I'm at risk for a stroke or heart attack! Already had an attack after surgery in 2003, and not sure if I'll survive another one! Just as things are starting to look up for me, this! It's very humbling. Guess nothing's promised to us. Thank You for all your support, Sharon Lee! Now it means more to me than ever!
Gus, don't let it get you down.... you're gonna' be allright. Go natural as much as possible in your health care. Look online for natural ways to deal with your high blood pressure -- they are out there, and not expensive. You can do this.
Taking enjoyable drives seems to help relax me a lot, but the doctor gave me blood pressure medication to play it safe. Dolly has one of those home units for checking pressure, but not sure of its accuracy. I'll have to put batteries in it and try it out! In fact, just got back from another one of my 'slight' odyssies! We stopped at the bike trail (a former RR, of course), but it was very emotionally painful, seeing the trail we did countless bike rides on! I'm telling you, Sharon Lee, I'd love to get back on a bike again! Still have one I can ride, and the RR trails are rather easy to handle. Really, I need to get back into that! I have some bike ride vids posted, on trails here and in West Virginia, the latter being very scenic! One can see so much more by bike than by car!! Did a documentary on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal by bike in 1997-all 184 1/2 miles of it! Yep-I was once in great shape! I really miss my bike! Last rode in 2010 on the W&OD RR Trail in Leesburg VA. Believe me, I intend to lick this blood pressure thing! Nothing's gonna get me down! I've still got some living to do! Dolly and I appreciate your concern, and send you our love!
Enjoyed the scenery.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanx for viewing!

Not sure exactly how Parr's Ridge got its name, but if someone by that name existed, it's a possibility!
Must've been too cold for the Blair Witch to come out. Darn! Enjoyed the video & looking forward to more adventures in 2017 :)
Glad you enjoyed! I'll do what I can to keep 'em coming!
Burkittsville is small but it’s so pretty
It certainly is! Those small 'hamlets' have a charm of their own!
bullfrog1954 Yes that is what I like the most - small town charm. Hidden gems all over the U.S. Also not to sound dumb, but what is a hamlet? 😂
A hamlet is just a small locality, but I know most of us don't hear that term used much. It's those hidden gems I tend to look for!
Burkittsville was never known as Blair

You're right. Burkittsville has always been Burkittsville. Blair and the witch story are fictitious.
