I absolutely love the sound of my TLM 102. I know I've made a very good investment when I purchased it. As it is a very detailed condenser microphone, it helps to have your recording space properly acoustically treated; this mic will help you record fantastic results every time. Thanks for the video, Archie!

Thanks. It is still too expensive for what it is, and comparing it with the great but still extremely expensive U87 does not help as TLM102 sounds basically the same a Rode NT1 which is almost 3 times less expensive, not to mention Apple like way of doing things, sell expensive but without a shock mount, and advertise it as a home studio microphone but make it with a horrible room and handling noise rejection, not to mention how resonant the body of the microphone is for 700.
The U87 has its "magic" in transformer saturation and how well it treats the sibilants, which is not what most mics do these days, but if you take out those two things out of the equation there is absolutely no magic worth paying except having a Neumann badge in the TLM102.
