The elantra n is definitely made to be an entry level sports car. The gearint, suspension, steering, its just all around a better car. But the k5 is for a more comfy, driver focused vehicle thats great for a small sized family

I opted for the K5 GT-Line due to weather in my area. I wanted an affordable AWD sedan. Although it is only 190hp it still gets up and goes when the turbo kicks in! Kia did a great job with these cars!
The thing is the Elantra N isnt engineered to be a straight line racer, take it to a circuit against the K5 i am sure they wont be as closely matched..... but i could also be biased.... i just bought an Elantra N...
The k5 only offers straight line performance, where as the N is built to go around racetracks, they really aren't in the same class at all other than price-wise.
Do you know if the Elantra was in 15 psi mode or did he do the fuel remapping for 19 psi. Once you refill the car goes to 15 psi untill it goes through a cycle to determine the gas is safe for 19 psi. It feels a lot faster after it does that process.
I think this is dependent on the conditions of where you are (altitude, temp, humidity etc) I’ve tried the octane learning process at least 7-8 times in my DCT and I never got over 15 psi, occasionally it would peak at like 16-17 but I think this whole thing in the EN community is overblown and meant for someone going from 87-93. Now it’s time for the Kia stinger GTLINE Vs the k5 or the Elantra N
Elantra n vs dodge RT?
Already done. Releasing soon
Great driving Nem!
Thanks brodaaa! 💪🏾💪🏾
I love the reinforcement of my decision to get the Elantra N
Love the match up!!
Can you do either of these cars vs a 330i?
After that first race I started thinking did I make a mistake buying my Elantra N lol? That was much closer than I was anticipating. Great comparison between the Korean cousins. The EN came through with the Ws.
See I felt and feel the oposite becsuse last June I traded my 18 2.0 Accord Sport for the Nline. Every time Sam breaks out the Elantra N I get extremely annoyed with myself for not waiting a year and instead getting the Elantra N. I knew down deep that it was a brash decision. I just wanted out of the Accord so badly. It is tourture every time Sam runs it becsuse it is such a fsntsstic car!
@@XWXW-lk4jf Why did you get rid of the accord 2.0?
@@XWXW-lk4jf funny I got out of a ‘21 Accord Sport 2.0T for the Elantra N!
One question…the Elantra N used the N button? For the extra 10hp???
As an accord 2.0T owner, many props due to the Elantra N. There’s still a hope !
whats crazy, the k5 gt, can blow out an accord 2.0t, a vw jetta gli, and a 5.7 hemi, they raced it against a hemi and it won...
Yes. I test drove the Elantra N and the Accord 2.0T. At the end I went for the Accord 2.0T because I got a better deal and its more reliable, but the Elantra N its a superior performing car in all aspects MT or DCT.
Hyundai (N) vs Kia (GT). 👍🏼😉
Hyundai Elantra N is (🏆🥇).
Thanks this video. 😎
Both cars are brothers as two eyes in one head.
Thanks Brother Sam for enjoying
♥️💚💙💜
Coming from a stinger gt owner, i love my hyundai and kia causins. Cant go wrong with any of them. K5 looks great and that N sounds amazing
AWD option for the elantra would be insane
So would the cost
deciding between K5 Gt or 2.0T accord
The K5 GT has a stronger engine, but sometimes can not put all the power to the ground, the Accord 2.0T its a more balanced car and with better reliability.
Just bought a k5 GT. Never thought I would have owned a Kia but it is the nicest car I have ever owned.faster than our rt charger with way more features to customize
I just got the new sonta i love it no turbo need better mpg but soo smooth
The elantra n is definitely made to be an entry level sports car. The gearint, suspension, steering, its just all around a better car. But the k5 is for a more comfy, driver focused vehicle thats great for a small sized family
Sam please sonata 1.6T vs 1.6T elentra nline vs accord 1.5T vs civic 1.5T this will be interesting race for sure 🙏🙏
Considering the K5 GT has the same lightning fast wet dual clutch 8 spd transmission, same engine, tuned to give it more power and torque, and looks 1000 nicer. Unless I'm tracking in the car which I don't, the K5 GT is by far the winner in this comparison.
I haven't researched the K5 GT as much as the Elantra N So I am wondering if it does have the same amount of versatility in regards to adjusting engine, trans, adaptive suspension, steering, exhaust, LSD, etc.
Not even sure if the K5 GT has that incredibly smart front LSD that comes equipped on the Elantra N.
As an Elantra N owner I can confirm it launches pretty good while stock. Wheel hop can be an issue. Where she really shines as seen is rolls. The sheer quickness of the Elantra is surprising
A relatively inexpensive motor mount solved that issue for a friend almost 100
Same, just put 500 miles on mine
it's a shame that the Kia K5 doesn't come to Germany. There are many fans and potential buyers.
Nice straight to the point video
Great race Sam!
Awesome great race! great cars!
Thanks for doing this match.
Volvo S60 T6 (polestar) If you could find it. This so happened to be the 3 cars on I'm talking my wife into.lol
Big thanks again!
Thanks Sam 👍👍RAD !!
The K5 GT\Sonata Nline (with summer tires) should be compared to a Accord 2.0T, Camry TRD, the N should be compared to a Type R, GTI. One car is a sporty mid size sedan, the other is a sport tuned compact sedan that can annoy neighbors and trigger HOA letters . Great Video.
For everyone saying this is a track car. It got beat by a VW GLI on a 8 year old platform with sh*tty hanook tires 2019-2021 and 2021-2022. This car is not worth the price. You want something sporty and fun get the N. You want something mature with great tuning potential get the GLI/GTI/SI. I dont see where this car fits. Unless you are some 18 year old teenage boy that has dreamt of this car since you were 12
I thought the K5 was equivalent to the sonata....🤔 Always great races!!!!
You are correct. The Elantra is a compact, & the K5 is a mid-size car like the Sonata.
The results would have been the same with a sonata n line…
Maybe Hyundai lied about the Elantra's horsepower/torque numbers? Maybe so
Man , with better tires the k5 would spin less and it would be much closer.
But great runs.
Would the k5 GT be faster than the Elantra with the same tires or no?
I have a K5 GT and the stock tires are garbage there chirping through 3rd gear but I love the car
I opted for the K5 GT-Line due to weather in my area. I wanted an affordable AWD sedan. Although it is only 190hp it still gets up and goes when the turbo kicks in! Kia did a great job with these cars!
190? K5 gt should make 290
@@meechieflow_ GT and GT Line are two different trims, GT makes the 290 hp and GT Line only makes the stock 190 hp
@@anthonyr460 yeah your right I didn't realize he said gt line my bad
190 hp is not much at all. It probably takes about 8 seconds to reach 60mph
@@4522-SC7.2 seconds.
The thing is the Elantra N isnt engineered to be a straight line racer, take it to a circuit against the K5 i am sure they wont be as closely matched..... but i could also be biased.... i just bought an Elantra N...
Closely matched? The Elantra N spanked the K5. The initial video was deceptive.
The Elantra N its a very well balanced performance sport car
Great races. Anyway you can get the b9 s4 (red) back on the channel?
Yep
Can you please do M3/M4 vs M550i/M850i
I cant help but look at the grease stain on the drivers headrest of the K5 😅
Damn Kia and hyndae rule….I cannot believe how amazing the brands have become. They are killing the competition.
hyundai is still a pece of shit
Great choice of cars to race!
Smart guy
Please do
Elantra N vs Stinger 2.5t AWD
Next
Thanks!
Sam you should do Elantra N Vs. Veloster N Vs. Kona N maybe even through in a Stinger GT2 too as well
On a day to day DD the Elantra N would be a better car compared to the Kona N. The Kona N has a very stiff suspension even on the softest setting.
Really impressed with the K5 it held its ground for the most part. Elantra is a pretty sick car.
🤔. That K5 got walked in the rolling race.
@@Theonedjneo i wouldnt call 1-2 cars as being walked...maybe if it was 5+ cars then yeah
The k5 only offers straight line performance, where as the N is built to go around racetracks, they really aren't in the same class at all other than price-wise.
Love my ebony black with chestnut brown K5 GT. It oozes business luxury and is so much fun to drive. A handsome car to be sure
Elantra N is just so good! Sounds amazing too Love it!
Smoke on the Water.
I would happily own either car. Can't wait for the Ionic 6 N.
Can’t wait to see the Elantra N take on the new CTR
I have both ctr is faster
They are LITERALLY TWIN BROTHERS , both a win win for me
Should be using the paddles to really control the get up on that k5 fr
I’ve always have used 93 and never saw 19-20 psi
@@dubber4life first I hear what you are saying and it can be confusing. I notice it actually takes like 15minutes of driving in highest gear at same speed. Lastly it makes a tremendous difference. I have raced my friend's car in both modes and there is a significant difference in outcome. What bothers me more is that I have to go through the stupid cycle to have peak performance. Also I never know when watching videos if there comparing it to the 15psi mode.
@@dubber4life I have a video showing my car after the learning process and it hits peaks of 20 psi. 5 psi peak difference does make a significant difference in a race.
Love my EN. Best car I've owned so far and I've owned many.
K5 on Sports plus mode?
gonna get the N once i graduate next year. Love my Mazda but i need another daily for a daily.
JB4 is handy to get rid of tire spin. just reduce the boost in low gear.
the AWD stuff is great, but probably equals a large power loss
