Here's another little something I won on Ebay recently at auction.
The Star Wars Legacy Collection TIE Fighter ADVANCED x1 prototype (Darth Vader's TIE Fighter.
The twin ion engine star fighter gets no more iconic than this variant seen in Episode 4 'A New Hope'!

Wow! All my childhood vehicles are gone. All that remains from ‘77-‘83 are a dozen original figures, opened of course.
his ship is that shape because it has hyperdrive.
There's a great scene in Rebels where Vader absolutely cuts a rebel squadron to ribbons in his Advanced TIE mate.
I believe when Vader Ricochets off the other tie and the trench and spins out into space there is a shot you can see the back “wing” or compartment whatever it is, my question is what is in there? A bigger engine? Some sort of booster? Extra fule? A shitter? A bacta tank and spare suit? Hell if I know, by golly you bet ya!
You can see the ships broader rear section when the Tie wingman clips Vader's Advanced Fighter in the Episode 4 trench run and goes spinning into space.
I wish these had electronics/sounds, lit up cockpit too.

They should make a Vader's Tie fighter with a updated cock pit,and a battle damage wing,that you could exchange with a new one.

I purchased the POTF 2 Vader Tie Fighter MIB ,I did open it up but to check over and resealed it. It is a very awesome it’s just a shame it took a long time to an office Vader Ship.
I had the original Vader's tie from a swap with another brian I knew many years ago during highschool era and a big movie accurate model and the big model x wing. Missed out on winning the green A wing with no pilot or box slight scuff on the cockpit went for just under £13

Your review is exactly what I was looking for. I pulled mine out of a storage tote and noticed the plastic hatch didn’t match the color of the ship and thought it suffered from plastic discoloration while in storage. Your review helped me identify which version/release this was and confirm that this was how the plastic color was straight out of the box.

Still holding hope that we will get an electronic one in the vintage collection one day. I have the POTF2 version MIMB, but i do not want to open it. I got one when it came out in 1997 but i returned it to the store, it was 50 bucks, more expensive than the one i got MIMB much later. The missiles were grey and the ship was made from very soft plastic, felt like a knock-off.
It's a pretty decent vehicle, but needs to be updated by hasbro. I always thought the cockpit glass on this version looked a bit too small. At least if the wings stay on (unlike the recent VC Tie!!!), it's a nice version to have in your collection!
Did you see the Marvel comic,when Darth Vader has a space battle with Han Solo? It was the Millennium Falcon vs Darth Vader's Tie Advance! It was epic! Vader messed up the Falcon pretty bad lol

I don’t recall Vader’s ship having that half dish style at the back. My original 1977 one doesn’t have it.... it’s like they’ve morphed a bomber style. Gonna check out the blueprints. 🧐
Yeah the original Kenner one doesn't have it. I reckon it was always there, but it included by Hasbro/Kenner/Tonka until they'd properly considered the blue print maybe?!....
Geeez loved my Tonka Toys.... real boys toy back in the day. Dude, managed to get the new Luke’s X wing the other day; still £109 in FP. 👍🏻
It’s amazing how I wanted to stick with my original vintage SW but seeing your showcases on all vehicles and play sets; my wallet is emptying faster than a punter in Spearmint Rhinos! 😆
Wow nice one, it looks like the same mold as the POTF 2 one, it definitely looks like a slightly darker grey and has some great new paint decals on it. If you want a Vader in his meditation chair Hasbro's 500th figure comes with a small meditation chair with a mechanical arm for the removable helmet etc. It's a similar figure to the one you got but slightly older, still a nice collectors piece.
If you find another one maybe you customize it with running lights etc
Nice. I bought this loose in a lot with two loose 'grey' tie fighters on the cheap, no boxes but in good shape. They display beautifully!
Checked it out and indeed, it has the half dish at the back 👍🏻

The back end was never shown except in the old marvel run the back of it was featured a few times and it looked just like it
i cant understand why hasbro never put any lights or sounds with any of the tie spaceships. still a great ship i have the power of the force one.

Just picked this up today... love the Cannon ports. The rear of the tie is just BEAUTIFUL.... VERY impressed for a non Haslabs/3D file vehicle.... gonna add some paint before I put together.

Go to Generation Tech here on UA-cam and he explains why Vader flew the Advanced X-1 the plan was once approved by Vader the Empire was to build that and phase out the regular Tie Fighters, but like everything even in Star Wars the cost of the X-1 was higher to produce.

Need to check my Galoob "battle damaged" Vaders fighter from ANH..also I thought the Interceptors were from ROTJ..one moment please..... ... ..yep!..It's has that rounded back end..Yeah you can't see it in the film or production photos that I remember..cheers Nick🍺🍺🍻

Aw4dome....I'd like to fo the same coz despite the small weathering touches, Hasbro are yet to release a nicely weathered, movie prop looking Vader TIE!

Is that little round slot in the left armrest of the cockpit seat for Vader's lightsaber hilt? That way it won't pop out of his belt hole if you bend a super-articulated Vader's legs to sit him inside?

Another great review! Although various iterations of this Darth Vader Advanced Tie Fighter over the years have all been based on the Power of the Force mould, would you say this legacy version has been the best looking one ever released? Not sure whether I should try to find one on ebay or hope and 🙏 that Habro eventually releases one in Vintage Collection with a completely new sculpt?

Mate, I just saw your tie bomber review and I see what you mean. If Hasbro could release the Vader Tie Fighter in those colours and weathering in the Vintage Collection it would be awesome! Thanks for letting me know, now I know not to get a Vader Tie Fighter on ebay. If I got one I'd never be satisfied with it. Let's cross our fingers they can redo it in Vintage Collection!
I have recently seen this on your shelves in your more recent videos, how does it scale with the vintage collection tie fighter?
Loads smaller! In fact maybe to scale with the flight trio in ANH.
I suppose it's meant to be a more compact TIE anyway.... cockpit size the same alas, wing height lower....
Is it a different sculpt from the 1997 POTF2 version? Because that version was a little too big and wide.
He said it was the same sculpt, just different color.
