Look at you all posh with your two overlockers 🤣🤣🤣🤣 love that Higgs and Higgs jersey, Tamlyn nearly bought that too but I think she’d run out of bags to carry everything she bought 🤣🤣
I literally gave an audible gasp when you flipped that silicone hot hemmer over and I saw what the holes were for! Brilliant! Not to mention the curve and different corners feature.
I’ve made the Carrie cardigan in that knit fabrice but in a dark green. It’s lovely and I wear it all the time!!
I went to the show on Saturday. Spent a fortune of course. Had a wonderful day with my daughter-in-law but then had to spend 2 days in bed to recover.
Another brilliant vlog and so good to see the purchases in a bit of detail too. Def inspired to add a few things to the Christmas wish list.
Ah just like me I love just wondering and browsing through the stalls and seeing what’s new❤
Oh those frames are ace. I’ve had one for years - size wise they are interchangeable. Think I bought mine at the K & S 30 som years ago! You’ll love it! ❤love
Great post, I have been to Harrogate once and loved it. I live in Birmingham so am spoilt with the NEC events, looking forward to the stitch one in March already. I love Higgs and Higgs too, such lovely fabric, although I do find I am buying more than I make at the moment which needs to change. Look forward to your next vlog ❤
It was lovely to see your footage of your day. I think you made very thoughtful choices. The first one I went to I bought loads of fabric because it’s so overwhelming but in subsequent years I was a lot more restrained. I live close to London so have been to Ally Pally. 😊
Really enjoyed your footage Ruan of the show. Those headpieces looked spectacular and that venue is awesome. I found that the show I go to in Somerset was also far more manic than I've seen for years, we went Coach day as well. One day I would love to make it up to Yorkshire! Great use of that BTPD fabric, the dress looks stunning ❤
Great vlog Ruan, as per usual. Before my sight started going skewiff, I did cross-stitch and those snap frames in every size, were by far my favourite. Much less fabric stretching and easy to re-tighten when the fabric slipped. I used mainly linen which moved and stretched when it felt like it! Keep up the good work and have a great Christmas. Stella.
Hello Ruan from San Diego Co California! I love that I found you! I'm a new sewist and I find you so entertaining and hilarious! I just subscribed to your channel and love your content! Ana
What a fun day!,
Lovey to see your show footage and I think you got some great buys would love to know how you get on with the cross stitch frame 👍 I bought that cable knit fabric at the show last year…. Still sitting waiting to be made into a cardi 🙈🤣 x
Wow! Glad you had fun. It’s always nice to spend time with those you love. Love all your goodies. I have the silicone hot hemmer. I bought it from BeyondthePinkdoor. It’s very useful 😊. As for the black cable knit fabric, we all need a basic piece of clothing to go with our outfits. It will be useful at home or the office! Thank you for sharing! Your friend Diane ❤
Glad you had a lovely day. 😊
Your dress is lovely looks fab on you , my kind of dress
Great job being pretty specific with your buys! You're just preparing yourself for the next shopping adventure where you can let loose! I love your new hair colour btw! I think the darker really suits you and makes your eyes stand out much much more ! Gorgeous!
Sounds like a really lovely day and how restrained you were! I’m worried, are you feeling well?😂 I’m definitely coming over from Ireland next year for Harrogate as I’m feeling deprived. Thank you for explaining the hot hemmed, now I know how to use it! Love your Lyra and coat😍
Such different and interesting purchases. Love them all. How awesome to spend the day with your Mum too 😊 Take care x Lisa 🇦🇺
I just about choked on my breakfast when you said that’s all the fabric you bought 😂 love the wee tour ❤ was hoping to get to Harrogate this year however life had other plans and I didn’t get my butt into gear 😂
Lovely vlog, even spotted the back of my head on 2 occasions at the knitting and stitching show😂
Ooh love a good stitching show, either in real life or living it through a vlog! 🥰😂. Have you seen the Named Patterns Esme Cardigan? Love a maxi cardi 🥰
Glad you had such a lovely time. Very impressed by your restraint! I'm gonna lead you astray at the Stitch festival! xxx
Snap! I got the hot hammer too… 😂 Thanks again for the prize Ruan 🙏
What a fun day out and great purchases❤ Love the black fabric. I just made the Carrie and really like it. The hemmer is so cool. Your Lyra is just stunning and goes so well with your jacket 😍
Thankyou for your post, I love to see what you bought,so glad you all had a lovely day! I really enjoyed myself, I went on the Sunday and it was not as busy. I also bought a silicone hemmer from Jen Hogg at Jenerates ! She was so lovely ,we had a nice chat ,her designs are beautiful and unique ,can’t wait to put it to good use👍😃❤️xx
Ooh, lots of lovely goodies 😊 would be interested in your thoughts on the snap frame, I've been doing punch needle embroidery for a while and looking for different frames that will hold really tight tension on the fabric ❤
Got to say that the outfit you wore to the show was lovely the colour of the jacket was gorgeous , I missed out on the show this year but I’m going to try to attend next year x
It was lovely to meet you and say hello at the show. It is nice that you mention that you appreciate people talking to you, as I was concerned that I might be bothering you, but you are as warm and friendly in real life as you come across in your blog.
That black knit fabric is amazing! It will make a beautiful cardigan. I can’t believe how much the UK charges for sewing/stitchery/knitting shows! I generally get a free ticket from my sewing machine dealer but if I had to pay for one it might be $7.50 per ticket! It’s usually the parking that’s expensive at $10 per car or $2.50 if I take the train there with my senior discount or $5.00 for regular all day ticket! That’s it - you’ll just have to come to Oregon! Hugs.
Sounds like a nice day with your mum and friend.
Lovely to see your day at the show 😊. I love the idea of the Jenerates pattern tracker 👍🏼. Thanks for sharing 💝
Love the building for the Harrogate show.....might have to pay a visit next year.
That looked a great day out Ruan. Loved the knit fabric, the pattern is so different. Your Lyra dress is fab, beautiful jacket too. I’m about to cut out my first Lyra and two’ing and fro’ing which skirt to do. Role on vlogmass 🎄🎄🎄😂😂😂😂
Sounds like such a fab day! I love your strategy! All planned out like an expedition to Everest 😂😂 Jen’s stuff looks amazing! Such clever designs!!! Cannot wait for Stitch festival now 🎉🎉
I’m so jealous of your day at the show and love the different notions you purchased. At the last minute I had to cancel going.
Ooh! I think that pattern tracker might be just what I’m looking for as a newbee to cross stitch. I’ve literally done about 2”x1” and I have botched a row already! 🤦🏼♀️ Could you possibly do a beginners cross stitch vlog please Ruan? I know there are hundreds out there but your hints and tips are always clear and easy to follow 🤷♀️ Hope you had a great time in Ireland 💞
The frame you bought for cross stitch I have and love. The only down side is you need a slightly bigger bag to hold your project. Love your vlogs.
Thanks Ryan for taking us along! I really enjoyed the footage at the show especially the displays of things made😁 Love your purchases. Look at the Fraser cardigan by Lovenotions or the Harper Cardigan by Sinclair or the new cardigan by Tammyhandmade. Can’t wait to see what u make.
Hi Ruan, saw you at the show but you were chatting to one of the stall holders and l didn't want to interrupt. Glad you enjoyed it. In relation to the cross stitch l 'm sure l read somewhere that you should wash your finished item gently in order to remove the natural grease from your fingertips, then roll it up in a towel to dry it,then press it on the wrong side with the right side on top of a towel ( a little bit like pressing velvet so you don't flatten it completely). I've done that with mine and they seem to be ok years later. Take care, Bev xx
Hi Bev ☺️. Yes that’s what I did with my finished crossstitch pieces. It came out ok but I wanted to try and find something that prevented it from happening in the first place if you know what I mean x
I saw you from behind at the show as you were talking to a stall holder. Your outfit looked amazing. Wish I’d have been able to say hello and let you know how great your channel is. 😊
Oh thank you! Well if you see me next year please do come and say hello 👋🏼
QSnaps are amazing, it relieves the pain in your hand if you don't use a stand. The only down side is that sometimes the clamps end up getting a bit loose and they turn so you loose a bit of tension. Also, I can clamp a USB reading light on the frame!
I’m definitely not a rummager. I like to know everything about my fabric before I get it too. Have a look at a cover for your Q snap. Like an elasticated steering wheel cover which means your Aida has extra protection.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Ruan. I'm with you, I hate to have to rummage! You boring though, I don't think so!!@😊
👌😍💖💖💖😘
Love your Lyra and coat. Beautiful on you. Do you extend the bodice on the Lyra? Jx
xXX👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed, Friday was mega busy. Can you remember which stall you got the camera print from? My son's a photographer and would make a nice gift for him. X
Oh I’m so sorry I can’t remember. It was a quick dash in when I saw it 🙈
I love the "Pattern Tracker"!! Great idea! TY
