@@MrGiant Elaborating on that. There is great misconception that Slavs come from East pushed to Europe by Huns. That is simply not true. Serbs arrived to Balkans in 6'th century, pushed there by Hun'garians (yes, they are Huns), but from the north. After they established contact with Byzantium (though it is unclear if those tribes didn't arive there on they own merit). There are proves that Slavs inhabited region of Vistula River and Dniepr as far as 1'th century. Where they were known to Romans as Veneti. Though Romans didn't have border with them and never stabilized open relations, Roman sources do mention vast empire existing in this region according to Germanic tribes. Slavs go off radar in early medieval, because translation issue. Holly Roman Empire dealt with vast tribal union known as Wends. Which for many years was mistaken with Vikings (it is interesting note that Baltic shamans did use animal horns) as only known source about them was from the Nordic Sagas, as they didn't know writing. To make things worst, contact with them was made from South, though Moravia. As such it was not clear that large Christianized tribal union was the same. As they did refer to themselves as Lechs and later by dominant tribe the Polans. As result remaining Wands from Veleti League was conquered by Germans and they capital Berlin was absorbed into HRE (later inheriting also Polish land of Prussia). And yes. It is hilarious that Poland was directly involved in unification of the Germany. Anyway, region is still inhabited by Slavic Sorbs, who are closely related to Serbs.

One of first modern constitutions in the world was Serbian. 1835 they made law that say how every slave becomes a free man same moment when he step on Serbian soil. You should definitely look up Serbian saga from the beginning of 20th century, when we saw the end of three empires (1912-1918). Ottoman, Austrian, German. Balkan liberation wars (1912-13); first stunner victories against massive enemy in WW1 at mount Cer & river Kolubara 1914; German offensive under field marshal August von Mackensen followed in 1915-16. Exhausted serbian army, with King and government had no choice but to retreat via south over Albanian mountains to the sea shores, leaving and even burying insignia of Kingdom at Kosovo. Except for immortal regiment of major Dragutin Gavrilovic, who defended Belgrade. Mackensen himself raised monument in their honor. He had great respect for the Serbian nation.

That documentary you have with sub on english and dub on english. It's about a to the general who led the largest guerrilla resistance movement in Europe during WW2 against Hitler and Axies in Kingdom of Yugoslavia (today Serbia) That man and our Yugoslav Chetniks prevented the flow of war material to North Africa through sabotage and diversions on railways in Serbia. From the background, this general defeated Hitler's best military leader that way - Erwin Rommel, and thus the British Eighth Army successfully drove his troops out of there in 1942...When you look at Visat History Channel, you will often see them talking about WW2 or Day D, but you will never hear anything about the Serbian resistance movement and contribution, and that Day D, which is the most important part of American and British history, should actually have happened with the landing on the Adriatic Sea in 1943 in Yugoslavia, the allies were supposed to liberate Europe together with our Chetniks !

@@MrGiant Elaborating on that. There is great misconception that Slavs come from East pushed to Europe by Huns. That is simply not true. Serbs arrived to Balkans in 6'th century, pushed there by Hun'garians (yes, they are Huns), but from the north. After they established contact with Byzantium (though it is unclear if those tribes didn't arive there on they own merit). There are proves that Slavs inhabited region of Vistula River and Dniepr as far as 1'th century. Where they were known to Romans as Veneti. Though Romans didn't have border with them and never stabilized open relations, Roman sources do mention vast empire existing in this region according to Germanic tribes. Slavs go off radar in early medieval, because translation issue. Holly Roman Empire dealt with vast tribal union known as Wends. Which for many years was mistaken with Vikings (it is interesting note that Baltic shamans did use animal horns) as only known source about them was from the Nordic Sagas, as they didn't know writing. To make things worst, contact with them was made from South, though Moravia. As such it was not clear that large Christianized tribal union was the same. As they did refer to themselves as Lechs and later by dominant tribe the Polans. As result remaining Wands from Veleti League was conquered by Germans and they capital Berlin was absorbed into HRE (later inheriting also Polish land of Prussia). And yes. It is hilarious that Poland was directly involved in unification of the Germany. Anyway, region is still inhabited by Slavic Sorbs, who are closely related to Serbs.

A disgraceful act was conducted in Kosovo recently. French, allegedly without the knowledge of local autorities, moved a Serbian WW1 monument on a cemetary, I don't remember the place right now, and built a NATO monument on it's place. French, Serbian allies in WW1? Disgusting and disgraceful.
And they say there is no ethnic cleansing in Kosovo against Serbs. Even authorised and conducted by Serbian former allies and current co-occupiers of Kosovo.

One of first modern constitutions in the world was Serbian. 1835 they made law that say how every slave becomes a free man same moment when he step on Serbian soil. Western world have that problem even 2 centuries latter.

You should definitely look up Serbian saga from the beginning of 20th century, when we saw the end of three empires (1912-1918). Ottoman, Austrian, German.
Balkan liberation wars (1912-13);
first stunner victories against massive enemy in WW1 at mount Cer & river Kolubara 1914;
German offensive under field marshal August von Mackensen followed in 1915-16. Exhausted serbian army, with King and government had no choice but to retreat via south over Albanian mountains to the sea shores, leaving and even burying insignia of Kingdom at Kosovo. Except for immortal regiment of major Dragutin Gavrilovic, who defended Belgrade. Mackensen himself raised monument in their honor. He had great respect for the Serbian nation.

From poruduction "Pogledi" i recomendet a documentary movie General Draza Mihailovich which certainly speaks more extensively than here. That documentary you have with sub on english and dub on english. It's about a to the general who led the largest guerrilla resistance movement in Europe during WW2 against Hitler and Axies in Kingdom of Yugoslavia (today Serbia) That man and our Yugoslav Chetniks prevented the flow of war material to North Africa through sabotage and diversions on railways in Serbia. From the background, this general defeated Hitler's best military leader that way - Erwin Rommel, and thus the British Eighth Army successfully drove his troops out of there in 1942...When you look at Visat History Channel, you will often see them talking about WW2 or Day D, but you will never hear anything about the Serbian resistance movement and contribution, and that Day D, which is the most important part of American and British history, should actually have happened with the landing on the Adriatic Sea in 1943 in Yugoslavia, the allies were supposed to liberate Europe together with our Chetniks !
