Look, mine blooms all the time. The smell isn't mildly pungent but it isn't "absolutely putrid". Honestly it's not that strong. Up close it smells a but bad and you can smell it in the room mildly. I love them. Exceptional video! Thank you for sharing!
Super interesting Chris!! I it reminded me of when I was watching some show about giant plants and one being a "corpse flower"if I'm remembering that correctly?? I remember the guy on the show traveling to go see this plant when it bloomed and it produced the most horrible smell and yet beautiful flower all at the same time.. is the Carrion Plant/ flower" a relative to this??? Thank you for sharing this exciting moment when this plant bloomed!! So beautiful yet so stinky 😂❤️ It is really neat to learn about nature and how animals , plants and all organisms learn to adapt and find their place in the world. For some reason all I could think about was my little Chihuahuas going out and finding like dead frogs and Carrion to roll in 😂😂😂 Always interesting when I come by to see you!! I just enjoy everything you bring to us!! I hope you and your family are having a wonderful day 👍💥✌️❤️🌿❤️
I believe you’re thinking of the titan Arum, Amorphophallus titanum a absolutely monster of a flower that makes this plant look like a pansy. And yea the corpse flower has a legendary odour. Not related at all to Stepelia.

I almost don’t notice a smell unless like you say up close

Another great video! These planta are oddly alluring, once you get past that initial stank.
❤️👍
the plant kingdom has far more unique and bizarre oddities that most animal groups maybe only second to insects
Biggs’ family doesn’t mind the smell. They are used to living with him and are immune to any stank he can produce now 😂
Lol… PREACH!
😂🤣♥️
I appreciate you sharing that, it is super cool, to see at your house : D
Lol, it’s about to bloom again. One last hoorah before winters rest
Omg you keep it in your kitchen! 🤢 so hard core, absolutely creepy fantastic plant!! Thx for sharing!
Yes and honestly unless close up the smell at least to humans isn’t that noticeable. However to flies it’s beyond attractive
New sub!
Welcome Jeff,
I hope
You enjoy the adventures
