Lemmy Kilmister, was born Ian Fraser Kilmister on December 24, 1945, in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.
Kilmister is well known for starting Motorhead, as well as for his distinctive appearance and raspy, raw singing voice.
Lemmy had already performed with a variety of groups prior to forming Motorhead in 1975, including Hawkwind in the 1960s.
He didn't become well-known among the general public until Motorhead produced several albums in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
On December 28, 2015, the legendary Lemmy Kilmister passed away from cancer.
Only four days after his 70th birthday was honoured.
