Man…the 1st question really hit home. Lost my dad 3 years ago & my oldest had 4 years with him & I will have to do my best to tell my 2 year old what a great man he is. I too had envisioned my dad teaching his grandkids how to drive later in life. Every time I hear “That’s why I love dirt roads” & the lyric “I learned to drive out here, my grandpa let me steer I still hear, "Both hands on the wheel" I always start to tear up because my boys will not have that experience. I do too tell myself “dad would love this.”

Listening to this podcast on Nov 13, which is the date I lost my father in 2009. I can’t believe it’s been 14 years already! But Granger is right. First, I’M SORRY! But second, practice gratitude! My oldest son was only 4-1/2 months old when my dad died. We have 3 pictures of them together. My dad never got to meet his other 4 grandchildren. Absolutely 16 years isn’t enough, but no amount of years will be enough. Just have faith that you will see him again in heaven.

I hate to see a young kid lose his grandpa. I lost mine at 13 and I wish I could have asked so many more questions and I wish I would have had a video of his voice. Hug him and love on him, but with everyone in your life no one is promised tomorrow.
I’m 47 and I lost my grandpa at 12 back in 89 and I remember at that age asking God to heal him, it was my first experience with death in my life then n 93 at age 17 my grandma and it’s funny I dreamed about them today and I noticed that even though it’s been 39 years I still love them the same ❤💙, thanks for commenting on this!!!

I find it really ironic that you have Tyler with this topic!! Tyler’s very special! Thank you! I have an idea! I was once a 15 year old girl, so I should be a guest bc I’m nobody important.
Not even two years after my husband died I was talking to my sons mother in law one day when we were all together about grief. And she said that she has found that people going through grief feel sorry for themselves. I couldn’t even respond!! I didn’t know what to say to this self proclaimed Christian woman. She doesn’t ever miss a day at church! Have I ever felt sorry for myself that my husband died? Hell yeah! We were married for 39 years. Have three sons who will miss out on so much. He was near retirement so our sons would have been able to see their Dad during the years when he wasn’t stressed about working. A man that would be loving his life even more. More than anything I feel sorry for those sons of his. My heart broke a little bc this is someone that I thought I could talk to. Not anymore.
I would say to Jack exactly what you’ve said and record his voice. Even record a conversation. Start a grandpa journal daily of things he says and your thoughts daily about him. Just be with him! That’s what I would do.
You and your brother did great answering Jack! I wish I had done better with my husband when he was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Good morning Granger and Tyler and everyone else watching I pray all have a good week. In response to the young man asking about online Bible studies maybe he is in church and just wants something more. I am knowledgeable about all that are online but I know I love my Wed. mornings with Pastor Chad and his Take and Read Podcast. I have a few different Bibles but the two I use are my KJV (my pastor preaches from KJV, he did an entire Wed. night study on the book of Revelation) but I also have a She Reads Truth CSB, which is a study Bible (Amber recommended at some point), this is the one I use with Chad though I know he more favors the ESV as you do Granger.
I was really hoping Granger would mention Take and Read also! I love our Wednesdays with Pastor Chad!
@@beckiepatrick6900Yes, definitely a good resource. Love those podcasts. I wonder if the young man wanted something like this or something where he could interact with a fellow group of studiers. I've noticed for the last little while that Granger has really emphasized being a part of your local congregation, and I'm thinking he's doing that because so many people these days don't feel it's important to be a part of a local group. I say get out there and get every resource you can. I couldn't get by without my local congregation, and I also love resources like Take and Read with Chad and Arise with Amber. I've also got a daily online reading I receive through an app, and I have three weekly emails I receive from preachers. Can't get enough, and I love it when they all overlap somehow.

They moved to a smaller and newer congregation called Emmaus Church in Georgetown, TX. From what Granger has said, they wanted a group where they could be closer with the other members and the leadership.
John McArthur has an exceptional study Bible. I agree with you though, you need to be with like minded people(Christian’s in your church) one of the things God instructs us to do.

Wow, Granger.. that was a really crappy intro of Tyler. Tyler, I think you're very special. I saw Granger back peddling there.. but that would've been worth a 'retake' of the podcast. Very disappointed in you, Granger.
Eh, it's just brothers being brothers. That's what makes it fun. I guarantee that Tyler didn't take it personally. Probably ribbed Granger about it later. From what I've seen between the brothers, they all give as good as they get.
