Really loved this video 👍 you are so knowledgeable and your personality and words keeps my eyes glued to the screen🎭 thank you for sharing such a awesome video
I'm glad you brought up cross pollination, I was going to ask you about that. It'll be interesting to see if the next crop produces larger Pink Okinawa. And yeah,.. my wife and I keep seeds,.. it's a good practice.
Yeah, I'm hoping things stay as true to the Okinawa as they can but also excited to see for my self what an okra mutt looks like if that's the case. That's cool that yall save seed, and I think you can relate to the sense of accomplishment when you see that next generation grow up and produce. I definitely want to get into it a little deeper this year, trying a few more varieties of stuff. Have a good one!
Thank you for such detailed seed saving video. I didn't know you still can continue to harvest from the same plant after saving 1 or 2 pods for seeds. You have answered my questions no other youtubers did.
Ha Ha I love that bee AND a little frog at the end! So cool to see you go through the seed-saving process. I thought that I would save some cucumber seeds this last summer, but didn’t get around to it; I just wanted to get the vines out of the greenhouse beds to prep them. The cucumber seeds are expensive like your okra, and I’m not growing anything else that would cross. Super Cool, thanks for sharing the process. Love those okra flowers 🌸 BTW I sent you an email with our video, the link is attached if you have a chance to take a look at it and let me know what you think 😊
I struggled with whether or not to take up a whole bed for so long doing this project when my space is so limited. I imagine your space is even more valuable for you with the limited season and grow area. And these projects do seem to put a hold on fall/winter clean up. Hopefully this next year you'll get around to it though, it is really cool to think you're making your own seed that could slowly adapt to that exact climate. I forgot about having the bee footage and I thought "wouldn't that be cool to see now with it being winter and all". I just tried the link and it won't let me in either so I'm not sure what's up. I'm gonna try again. Thanks ahead of time though, I want to see how it all turned out!
@@paxtianodirtfrog8947 all that I would have to do is save one cucumber plant and let those cucumbers get really mature. I could leave a plant that was at the end of a bed so it wasn’t in the way. I’ll have to try and remember that this year! I resent that video link, this time I included your email address in the box where it says “share privately” so hopefully it works.
I'm very excited for my crop this year. I ordered from Baker - Okinawa pink, Alabama Red and the Heavy Hitter. I'm excited to see how your next gen plants turn out. Are you planting these seeds this year?
Do you save videos like I do for winter man lol? I remember these buggers. Did you get any snow? It ended here around 1pm, 7 inches but they are saying more tonight! They are really cool looking when they get large, almost like an upside down carrot lol. Anyways, have a great safe weekend brother!!
Yeah I have been sitting on this project for a while. I had the intention of putting it all together and editing it around the time I harvested the final pods but honestly was overwhelmed with a bunch of footage that a lot of got chunked. I thought now would be a cool time to see some footage of green growing things from the warm weather. We are dipping back down so the slush will be turning into solid ice. When I was at work early it started sleeting again and setting like snow but really haven't had anymore. Who knows what I wake up to. I using this as chill time, so hope you have a chill weekend to friend!
@@paxtianodirtfrog8947 Man I do the same thing, after 4 years I feel weird still talking to a phone or camera and either get quiet cause Im nervous or dont know what to say so I chuck 70 percent of stuff as well lol. Im too critical of myself and just cant let it be, like who cares people either accept me for who I am or whatever lol. But yea man its cool to see all the interesting things you grow there! I tried growing a few little tomato plants once but I got disgusted and too frustrated with birds etc tearing them to bits non stop so gave up lol. I thought it would be snowing here by now again but nothing, the roads are extreme bad so be careful brother if you need to get out in it! You have a great weekend too buddy ty

So glad I could help, love to see folks saving seeds!
Another interesting video. Thanks for sharing. I save my corn seeds. I'm going to try saving the Clemson Spineless okra seeds I grew this year.

That snow is just gonna miss us in MD,.. second storm where we end up with a dusting. ☹
@@schmitzcj Sorry to hear that Christopher, we rarely get big snows here where I live
