ZZZ was made for someone like me. Good combat, can team build if I want which was my favourite aspect of HSR, hopefully story is as good as HSR and most importantly, not open world.

Considering chapter 1 is largely a glorified tutorial it is no surprise that after 11 clears it has become unpalpable... Just don’t treat it like a act game, but as a causal gacha arpg game then it’s decent
It’s not the sweaty anime act game it promoted itself to be, hence people are not quite happy with it, it’s still the same old stat check arpg as Genshin and HSR, probly won’t change in future either, the fact this first limited 5* character has built in i-frame during her attack from her C2 is already quite telling where this game’s future characters’ kits design will be, in less than half a year we probly will get a character that literally clean the entire screen with 1 button or a dps with crazy survival utilities, no skill and no combo needed, typical arpg powercreep stuff
I can say this bcs I’m already rank 34 and done up to abyss floor 9 of this game, no matter how well you execute combo or utilize QTE or the parrying/dodging mechanism to trigger shield breaking or applying buffs faster, as long as your character is a but under leveled with not so good discs/weapon, you won’t get S rank past floor 9, it has nothing to do with a player’s skill, it’s just time based stat check
And I can promise you in less than half a year, whichever the next new dps is will clear either side of floor 9 way easier than the current dps we have, simply bcs of powercreep instead of player’s skill got better, since there’s no skill needed to begin with

    • @Scatterblades

@@Scatterblades exactly, hence people are not happy bcs Hoyo promoted the game as an act game that has high player skill ceiling, which the game turned out to be the complete opposite
We all thought Hoyo was gotta cook something else with this one, but it’s still the same business model and game design, hence the disappointment, the only good thing this ‘game’ has is the cutscenes, I won’t consider this a game tbh, more so just a monthly update mid anime with good budget

The game isn't bad, in fact, I'd even say it's the perfect introductory game to get into the action combat gacha game scene if you've never played one before. However, If you're someone that has been playing these types of gacha games for years (ie. PGR and HI3) it does leave a lot to be desired. It's not that simplicity is a bad thing, just that if you are well versed into these kinds of games, the combat probably isn't going to knock your socks off.
I still think the TV mechanics in it's entirety and how its meant to be a substitute for exploration (even though that in itself has limitations given what kind of game ZZZ is) is a failure on all fronts. I don't think Hoyoverse is going to do something like remove it and replace it with something better, we can only hope that in the future it becomes less prevalent and more of a focus put on the actual combat.

This game has other issues outside of the two main problems difficulty and the tvs.
First of mobile optimization especially for android is trash tons of bugs so many people on mobile cant even play the game alot of people are experiencing a problem where they meet the requirements to play the game the game will crash and then it will say device no longer compatible.Another problem is that you for some reason cant skip everything you can skip some dialogue but not all of it especially the most boring style of dialogue where its just you and an npc standing still with an expressionless face with the npc just yapping you also cant skip through the phone texts whenever they happen you have to go through the whole thing.Another problem is how goddam slow the early to midgame is even if you skip everything your still gonna be stuck for a while and its an absolutely miserable experience. Also can we talk about the people constantly comparing this game to a fighting game like i play ggs, gfvr, tekken and i dont see how you can say this game is good for fighting game players like you cant jump so no air combos your forced to switch out constantly unless you wanna stare at a bar going down for 5 seconds which completely interrupts the flow of combat ult takes forever to build up so you barely get to use it, character depth is puddle deep where half of the depth of these characters doesnt even matter anyways because you dont need it and honestly one of the biggest reasons it wouldnt be fun for fighting game players is that in fighting you can whoever you want(save for dlc characters) but since this is a gacha game what do you do if you get characters you dont like playing you either pay up or you have to play through the game with characters you dont like for who knows how long and im pretty sure fighting game players arent about to do either lol.Anyways this isnt even all of the problems the games got but it is some of it.

yes I do think that actually, I think the only reason it has this weird cult-like following is because it came out during the height of the pandemic and parasocial relationships. If it came out any time before or after that, it probably would have had ToF levels of success.

@@priqe Not every pioneer reaches success, and being in confinement won't prevent people from thinking the game is uninteresting or boring. People get attached because Hpyo sets a new standard of quality for gacha games. If genshin is boring to you, you pretty much find almost all other gachas and casual games boring, and you likely hate doing dailies and the slow progress, which is the core of all recent gacha games. Genshin combat is not easy; most players can't get 36* at Abyss even with decent accounts. The only reasonable complaint to make about the game is its lack of challenging content to do after reaching the endgame. Competitive players and hardcore players are the same because they have to spend more time playing to get better and win over others that don't spend as much time playing. Genshin is clearly not for hardcores, so it's not reasonable to complain that it doesn't have PVP. Gacha is a casual genre because it requires small effort to get most rewards, and everything that makes a gacha great hoyo games has it in top quality. That's why there are a lot of people who only play Hoyos games, which are almost all based on Genshin mechanics and gameplay, which other games are trying to copy and failing because they "listen to players" thinking most players know what will make them spend more money in a game.
