This is my Grandpa Larry Jensen... it’s beautiful seeing others appreciate him as much as I do. He has the biggest heart of any man I’ve ever known. I feel so honored to be named after him. James Larry Kirkham. Seeing all these kind comments brought me to tears.
I was so inspired today by a short, simple video titled "Be A Mr. Jensen". I'm sure he has encouraged many others! Has anyone approached your grandfather about doing a book, documentary...or even a movie?
Yes the churches helped me a lot too but then again I have helped the church and a lot of people in the church out quite a bit as well as prouvent a lot of things wrong that they thought because of my disability I could not do
That's awesome, in reality applying what the church teaching has helped you. The church teaches about Christ and he is the one that has been behind the help you needed
This is the same Mr. Jensen that gave me hope! I struggled with Math Drills and felt I was stupid, then Mr. Jensen gave me an opportunity to steady Math on my own away from distraction and not have to do the Math Drills. Through this, I whizzed through the Math curriculum and discovered I liked math and I was smart. This moment has affected my whole life and is one of the moments that inspired me to go back to college after I had all my kids and earn a teaching degree in Elementary Education. THANK YOU, Mr. Jensen!! You are an inspiration as a human being and as a teacher! I hope I will be able to touch lives as you did!
Oh, good! I panicked for a second that you were gonna say that Mr. Jensen saw that you didn't like Math Drills and gave you a set of drumsticks, too. Turns out that was his answer to everything! ;'D
I was praying really hard today for help. Started slipping into allowing despair to engulf me. Then this video came up in my notifications when I finished. Heavenly Father really does listen to prayers, and he answers and cares. Thank you for making and posting this video.
I am so grateful for you president Nelson and for the words of encouragement. I have no doubt you are inspired by our Heaven Father/ I will do y best to follow the advice and share my graditude for life.
I had major issues not keeping still during my childhood. My Father who was a guitarist, when I was a small child showed me a quarter beat on the kitchen table. They didn't have much money, but they bought me a drum set when I was 15. Over the next 32 years, drums have been so therapeutic to me. Clint's story is so important to me too.
Beautiful. 💗 Incredible story from an incredible storyteller. This made me cry. Sometimes hope is all we have, but in those times we learn that hope is enough.
5:45 “I don’t think you’re a problem. I just think you’re a drummer.” How amazing for a kid to be told that, to be told they’re not a problem, but talented
I kind of hate school trying to shove you into a box. When there su much more. And God has talents he gave us. And it's our job on earth to use them. And give glory to God for them. Thank you sir. For your testimony.
I knew it! This guy, Clint, is the actor playing Elder Kestler in the movie Saturdays Warrior from 2016. Man, you're just straight fire! And gosh he played that role well. All other LDS's who sees this comment, go home and watch the movie, it's a real piece of latter day art.
"HOPE" this word make me enable to standing still or struggle in the rest of my life. I'm a father of two young doughters the elder are 15 years old and the youngest is 12 years. I'm working at offshore drilling company till 2014. Company close the door for me and I'm out of work. one year later I'm in financial difficulty no money to pay school for both of my kids I almost to finish my life felling so shame and useless.untill one day my wife went to the churs asking for help for tuition fee for both of our kids. Thanks to Lord they agree with my wife. Nothing else i can do I'm surender to the Lord HOPE someday he give way to solve the problem. To support daily life I'm join with ride hailing company called GOJEK Indonesia.
I really love stories like this. Just normal people, showing a little kindness, a little understanding, and changing lives in the process. May we all look for and find opportunities to do the same.
I feel the love he must have for the teacher. Watching and observing a problem minus the person challenged. Help us appreciate the person and know how best we can help. I am really touched by the story. MR. JENSEN Good bless you.
I'm a Mr Jenson. The pandemic has locked me away. So I mentor to the missionaries, and those are working on Family History. I don't know everything, but I know a lot. And walk and talk to my Mr Jenson everyday...Jesus Christ.
Clint is a wonderful inspirational speaker. I've seen him in person twice. Cried both times. He's great with kids. Have him come to your children's school and speak. It'll change those kids' lives forever! We need hope like this in the world, especially now. Thank you for sharing your story, Clint.
I was so hard on my son simply because he behaves differently from his siblings. He is the kind of a child who can never sit the whole day in the house. Always skating, very goodin convincing his friends to bow to his demands. always in trouble for coming home late. Thank you I will now use that as an opportunity to see his potential.
I love these stories put on here. They are so inspirational. And I'm so glad 1 teacher saw the good. It reminds me of the savior seeking out the one sheep that was lost.❤
I had two hyper active boy in Sunday School primary class. They would like to crawl under the table, under the chairs, even climb up the windows. I put a limit at the windows. I told them they can wiggle all they want , but must listen to the lesson. I will tell them the Lesson stories they needed to learn. They wiggle to their heart’s content. I asked the questions and they knew all the answers. Since I had the flexibility I allowed them and they were learning. That’s what counts. Unconventional yes, but they were learning the gospel. That was more important to me then keeping them quiet.
This very inspiring story just totally made my day/week/year. We need more Mr. Jensen's! This needs to be shared! (sharing this myself). Thank you for this!
This is exactly how all should behave. Instead of fault-finding, but rather exemplify the attributes of the Savior. I try to do exactly as the teacher because I know what it feels like to be mistreated for the simplest thing or for what others believe I did wrong. Kudos to those who act like Clint’s former teacher. Beautiful story.
I love Clint Pulver! I got to meet him in person! His lesson about being better for others like Mr. Jensen really has inspired me! I taught it in a devotional for my missionary companions, they cried with joy of the spirit! Let us all follow the spirit of the Lord and be of help for others who struggle. We can build each other up! Us members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints represent the Savior Jesus Christ. He helped everybody, let us help and love everybody too! Even those who despise us, the atonement brings a measure of peace and comfort. I Elder Miller testify of that in the name of Jesus Christ amen!
@@johnmarkdibert4745 If you’re asking am I a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, yes I am. 😀 I’m a member of His restored church. I’m also currently serving a service mission in His church. My name is Elder Miller. Happy to meet you brother John Mark Dibert. 😃👋🤝
Clint! I had no idea that this was your story! This was amazing, man! You look like you're doing well, and I am happy you've been able to continue doing something you love!
I used to be part of this church but due to life circumstances, I walked away. Little by little I'm taking steps in the right direction towards the church again. Jesus knows better than anyone what we need. And I need him 🙏
So glad I watched this. I feel helped, affirmed, and lifted up again. I know I am not perfect....but at the same time, I want to try. If it was impossible, it wouldn't be asked of us ❤
There's only a limited number of ways to express how much I like this, thumbs up and comment, so I'm going to like my own comment to squeeze in one more way. Lol oh and like other comments. All the ways.
"I don't think you're a problem, I just think you're a drummer!" It's been a long time since I've laughed that hard, still laughing as I type this. Thank you for your uplifting and inspiring message, and for sharing how this moment affected your life in such a positive way. It should give all of us pause to think of how we use words and how we can positively influence others, even those who are thought of as being "problem children." Thank the Lord for people like Mr. Jensen.
Thank you, Clint, for sharing your story. As a fellow "drummer" who has struggled with many of the same things, I agree with your belief in moments that can truly make so much of a difference.
I’m you. I was the tapper in school & now I’m 50 and am still playing drums. I’ve been told that “Drums are not a Church-approved instrument”. Yet, here we are using it to connect with others. Thank you for this. ❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻
It's not that they aren't Church-approved. Drums are just on the list of instruments that aren't supposed to be used during sacrament meetings (since they're not exactly reverent). There's nothing wrong with playing them in other, more appropriate settings. If anyone tells you differently, remind them that the Orchestra at Temple Square has a percussion section. 😉
Whatever you say, Kesler. Seriously though, you're spot on man. Thank you. I need hope and have friends that need hope right now too. Moments are life.
I love the comparison in moments and small and simple things. Ive been trying to create moments in my family because I also recognize it brings true joy. Thank you for your message. It was beautifully said. Thank you!
I bought bouncy bands for the chair's legs for my classroom. There are a lot of twitchy kids! They become adults- my sister still bounces her leg! Thank you! Who knew? I will definitely share this!
I was a tapper, and a foot twirler. Decades later during adulthood, I learned that magnesium deficiency is an extremely common deficiency now because we only have 10% of magnesium in the soils than we did a hundred years ago. Magnesium is calming, yet helps alertness for everyone, including people with ADD and ADHD. It helps us sleep, stay alert and focused, and more. I had the fidgets, including restless leg syndrome, and highly absorbable magnesium instantly stopped that. B-vitamins and L-thiamine help, as well. Very creative people commonly need more of these nutrients, but most people are magnesium deficient these days. This story is so encouraging. These nutrients aren’t usually discovered in time to help ones years during education. So finding a creative outlet is a great beginning. As an artist, I resorted to art for my own natural outlet, but a pencil is quiet. Drums aren’t! He couldn’t drum during regular classes, lol. I guess I was blessed that my outlet happened to be quiet. I do remember that once I went to a certain private school and had very right-brained teachers, and just being riveted by their creative teaching approach stopped my fidgeting. But put me in a class taught by a very type-A, left-brained teacher-the fidgets would come right back, hA! Boredom from lack of seeing a teacher use creative application while worse, adding more performance pressure on students, was a recipe for educational disaster for me. This teacher obviously had the creative touch, saving this man.

Thank you for your great message especially this Holiday season. Be a Mr.Jensen in someone else's life.
I love they way he told this. I love your story! It's great how many different analogies are in this as well.
I love this message! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
When I see this guy I can just think, “In our humble way!”
Lol
Was he in a production of Saturday's Warrior?

Sometimes our efforts seem like a drop of water in the bucket. At least it is a drop of water in the bucket
Reminds me of my football coach in high school. Good teachers are worth more than their salary that’s for sure.
This is powerful. Such a great story.
THANKS!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you SOOO much for helping us see with God's eyes!
