My Grandfather, Rafael Negrete is playing violin with his group in this clip. He played in many different scenes in the movie. He also played in many other Valentino movies including The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse and The Shiek. This was a silent film so the soundtrack is not the original. My Dad said Rafael used to play El Relicario on his violin from this movie.
+Star buono Hello Star, I don't think it's Beatriz in this scene because she died in early 1921 from a ruptured appendix, same thing that Rudy died from! Very strange indeed! She was born in 1896 and was only 24 when she passed. She is the dancer in the famous tango scene from the Four Horsemen. Blood and Sand was filmed in 1922 and the girl in this scene looks like her. I'll have to do some more research to confirm who she is.
Who cares if it's flamenco and not the tango. Rudi Valentino was and still is a great dancer. I'm glad too that the female dancer has at last been identified. BTW, I love the song that they're dancing to.
Si esa escena se hubiera filmado actualmente, no la contaría el gran Rodolfo Valentino con la critica de los periodistas y con las mujeres feministas. Dirían que es un consumado "misogino".
Hi! Great Dance Clip! My Hollywood Club Friends and I though this "Blood & Sand" dance clip was shot at The El Cid Night Spot over on Sunset in Silverlake. Others claim it was all shot on the back lot at Paramount. What's the real Rudolph Valentino scoop?
One hundred years from now who will they remember fondly as we do Valentino?
A rodolfo valentino. Ha pasado a la historia como lo que es. Un gran actor.
My favorite movie of Rudolph Valentino

Actually, Valentino died from peritonitis and pleurisy, caused by a perforated *ulcer*.
GIL NEGRETTE That is so very cool. What a wonderful family remembrance.
That's amazing

I see why Valentino was so popular. Wow.
He was pretty sexy.
I turned down the silly background noise to fully appreciate this clip.
