You have me nervous about installing my proactive struts. I currently have the progressive springs with the stock PP1 struts. I ordered my struts with the optional steeda bump stops. Hopefully I don't have the same issues you ran into.
@@StangDadGT thanks for the info. I'm going to do the install tomorrow or next day. If I have an issue Steeda's only 20mins from me. So the first set of steeda struts were defective.
@@user-bk5ey9ws5g Oh that’s nice you’re close. They offered for me to come in but I’m not close. It was the shocks, not the struts. The dos send me some tein isolates for the front to quiet any creaking down.
I didn’t want factory specs. I worked with Steeda based on how I use the car and they provided me specs and I took it to a specialty shop for alignment. I did end up needing front camber bolts.
That was the plan and then I got rear ended on the test drive. I don’t have the car anymore so I can’t really do much. Also, the original shocks were bad and steeda replaced them and it made a huge difference.
I’ve always found the rear way easier since you don’t have to compress the springs. I did lots of ugga duggas haha. Steeda would have specs in their instructions I think.
I had a hard time getting my rears out😱I poked around and found a torque spec for the struts. It said 46 lbs. I've got mine closer to 50 just from feel. Maybe too much
Why do my front struts clunk ? I installed the same springs on factory non PP1 mustang and when I drive the clunk I’ve checked everything 3 times uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and they still clunk ? Should I order steeda struts too?
I’m not sure I’m the best to answer that as I’m just a DIYer. I will tell you my struts and springs were clunky at times. You can see if steeds can provide you some tein isolaters. From what I understand the clunk is the tighter coils hitting and the isolaters create a padding or cushion.
I just had these installed by a local shop. Also had the camber plates, but I'm getting a metal grinding sound when turning my drivers side wheel to the left. Shop can't figure out why it's doing it. They took everything apart, thought it was the spring, changed it out and still doing it. I have videos on my channel up. No one seems to know what's causing it.
Hmm I haven’t had that issue. I bought camber bolts and didn’t end up needing them. Are you sure you need the plates? If you’re one Steeda progressive springs, it’s not a super low drop.
@@StangDadGT Yea without the plates my camber is way off. I do wonder if it's the plates making the noise though. I'm trying to get my car to Steeda for them to look at it. It's a good 3 and a half hr drive.
The Dude If you get in touch with them they will have an engineer help you. I’m shockers your camber was that off. Now I can’t get to ford specs but between what Steeda recommended and my alignment shop, they were able to align just fine. Are you having Ford align it? I’d take it to more of a speciality shop honestly.
These are non adjustable ones. In retrospect maybe I should have gotten adjustable. I ended with replacements for the rear and the rear is all set now. Working on the fronts currently. Steeda customer service has just been top notch!
So I took the car to a specialty shop and they were able to align with no issues. I also got the specs from steeda for how I used my car. But I’d recommend getting camber bolts for the front so you have them because it was super close to rubbing. I ran a 285/35/20 up from and 305/35/20 on rear.
Great video....I'd have to agree with you about Steeda.....Good P.R. skills.....Great products......Just curious why you didn't just go with castor/camber plates up top on the front? You can really dial it in with ease.....And they're toe links on the rear make an awesome upgrade....Just completed a 2016 GT build with all Steeda components....swapped out every single bushing and component in the chassis, sub-frame and drivetrain mechanicals....I used the dual rate and pro-action non-adjustable.....Couldn't be happier with the performance of this build....Handles amazing!!!!!
I did end up adding camber bolts up front. Everything else was able to be dialed in where I wanted with Steedas specs. Mainly I was looking for a smoother ride since I daily drove this one. I’ve slacked on uploading new videos but I now have a 23 Mach 1 HP that I will dial in very differently as I will track this one.
@@StangDadGT Nice.....These are a great car to daily drive....The dual rates actually are decent for daily driving. Did that come with Wilwood calipers in the front?
@@thomasrouh2258 still brembos. Adjustable front shocks though. I may upgrade to the dual rates but I want to track it a few times and actually make upgrades I feel I need.
Great video bud. Sucks about that hit and run driver but thank God he wasn't a crazy bastard. Get yourself a good dash cam so you don't have to worry about stuff like that. I have the BlackVue DR750s-2CH...check it out.
They definitely hit softer and pad when the car settles. Took a while to get dialed in and are a bit noisy. Here’s the link: www.steeda.com/steeda-555-8423-s550-front-rear-shocks-struts#/filter:ss_ymm:Mustang$253E2019

Thanks. I did end up cutting after the fact and taking to Steeda. It did help some. I had something wrong in the rear that it sat too low. Ended up replacing rear springs and putting a 5mm spring spacer and it completely changed it.

Very nice install video.
Hey nice video, did you cut the bump stop that was from steeda or the stock bump stop.
I didn’t cut them but ended up getting a pre cut set of rears from Steeda and cut my fronts.
