That's so awesome! Stories like yours are the ones we need to hear more about. Sure, I love watching the top athletes in the sport too, but deciding in your 50s to start training Judo and BJJ is the real story. Thanks for sharing.

Inspiring! This makes me so happy. My goal is not to win any championships or beat up anyone on the street. My goal is to do this for as long as I am able.

Thanks for sharing. That's the vibe we like to create in the gym. Sure, we train hard but we also like to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and is a safe place to train.

So, how do the older grapplers in your gym compare with the older people you know who are Jiu Jitsu players? Do you know people who are on the fence about starting Jiu Jitsu because they think they're "too old"? Share in the comments how you've been able to convince them to get started.

I'm 47, just started a few weeks back. I feel like I've been hit by a car every night but I so keep coming back. Crazy thing is if I would've put the same amount of effort in my 20's 30s as I am today with the sleeping right, suppliments, calorie counting, then I would've been a monster. Oh well I'm in it till my body says stop.
