I guess it's because as a singer you are pretty much used to a certain vocal track when recorded in a studio. In almost every song the vocals consist of at least two identically sung vocal tracks. And recording vocals for a song isn't just going there and singing it once. Depending on the artist you will sing the vocal track a few times. Always the very same way. So.. :)
