If second last carbon of the chain bears 2 methyl groups then in common system we call it Neo.... In iupac such a carbon is referred as tert because it is bonded to 3 other carbon atoms... Also Neo is possible in pentyl onwards but tert can be in butyl also... So depending on which system of nomenclature we are using we have to choose... Hope you got this 😊
