I was in prison when i first got this book. Something made me not interested early on and i out it down for weeks and read other books. When i picked this back up and started it from the beginning again i couldn't put it down. It's such an amazing journey. I don't read much these days. I'm a hard working business owner in Reno Nevada. Been clean from methamphetamines for 19 years now. I found this audio book with a search a few days ago and I'm enjoying it so much. Thank you.

    thoughts upon a re-read (spoiler book 2):
    - the assassins probably weren't sent by Ambrose
    - why is Kvothe so intelligent at such a young age? I think there's more to it, did his mother lay with a Chandrian? look carefully at how the cthaeh words his passage about his mother.
    - cinder is master ash?
    - is Kvothe the villain? are we watching a Tom riddle to Voldemort type transformation, just from the villain's perspective? he can be pretty sociopathic when he wants to be
    - Denna/ denner resin?
    - Kvothe is a time traveller? created a sympathetic binding with his past self and transferred his consciousness to try to have a "do-over" but doesn't remember doing it, but keeps his relative level of intellect (how do you explain the survival dream that gave him accurate survival info right after his troupe was killed?) some kind of force is watching over him, maybe his future self.
    - why is Denna everywhere he goes? it's very coincidental that they keep running into each other, is she a Chandrian and she's the one that keeps tabs on the last survivor of the troupe they killed? like a slow-burn type of torture? a devil on the shoulder to mislead and distract? did they even kill the troupe?
    - is the entire design of the way stone inn a trap to lure the Chandrian? is kote just a cleverly played character by Kvothe to convince even a inhuman being? is the true Kvothe essence trapped in the thrice locked box?
    - is the real doors of stone the friends we made along the way?

I’ve heard Kvothe has the blood of Iax in him, in turn giving him the blood of fae (that would explain a lot of things). I’ve also heard the box holds a part of Kvothes name, that’s why he’s referred to Kote in the current time. Ash I definitely believe is a chandrian, but him being cinder feels a bit too easy to speculate. Denna could very likely be a spy, I’ve heard a ton of people say this with lots of reasoning. Kvothe a time traveler. I think not, but he has definitely spent a lot of time in the fae realm, and time works differently there.

    12:56:22 ch46 the rookery
Our hero falls off a tower just like Bran in GoT. The authors name Pat is similar to Pate from ADwD who lives under the rookery in a university, similar to the setting of this chapter. And the readers ecpectations get undermined. Undermining expectations is getting discussed between the protagonists.

Theory. Halifax is lanre. Specifically because early in kwothe says that he heard lanre went crazy and couldnt sleep anymore. When halifax speaks the word sleep he halts as if it haunts him (when the kwothe finds the chandarain at his camp)

Btw I realize I wasn't exactly clear. I do understand that skarpe's story in tarbean points to the same conclusion. But as this is a book filled with lore and not a lot of definitive answers, I was meaning to put this forward as more evidence his story is correct.

It's suppose to be out Xmas Of this year !!! 2024 Xmas. That's what multiple sources are saying. Also the book is done and the only reason it wasnt released is because Amazon announced the pre sale and release in 2022 but Rothfusss got upset that someone else announced it and not him. So he pulled the book and delayed releasing it. It's all done he's just waiting for what he considers the right time. I mean Pink Floyd probably will never get back together so atleast we aren't in that boat. Book 3 is def coming . Pretty sure this Xmas
