Using UA-cam TV costs me only about 1/4 to 1/3 of what I was paying for cable. I was paying about $360.00 a month for cable but not anymore plus my wife loves the “DVR” service included in the price and it records all follow up episodes without having to schedule certain shows every night which makes things so much easier. We do have a few add on packages but it’s still way cheaper for us.
Humm after my DirecTV went from 155 to 195 this month. And I have Xfinity sign up at a 2nd home last month for 165, I asked Xfinity to give me the same thing here. They wanted $236! I’m ready to switch to UA-cam tv & have my cost but It’s 85 + Xfinity cable at 75 so it 160 total. Sounds like the best deal for about the same product. I hate dealing with the bait & switch Xfinity & DirecTV.
I have had it for over 2 years AND with how they parse out multiple users, I share the account with my 2 sisters, so we each pay $25/month. There’s literally nothing I have missed by cutting the cord. Also, I love that I can search for content, add it to my library and when that show/movie is on, it will be recorded for me to watch at my leisure…..
It's unfortunately pretty expensive but it's worth it if you need those channels and the content they bring. Especially if you're in my situation where you have trouble using an antenna and you don't get the channels you need anyways through an antenna and there's no cable outfit around and you're not paying for a satellite system. You do have good internet so you picked up UA-cam TV. However I'm in the process of canceling all sorts of subscriptions and cleaning out a tab I have on my credit card. So I definitely understand the problems with streaming as you want too much and it becomes too expensive. UA-cam TV went from $38 for me with taxes when I first joined to now being nearly a hundred because I also picked up the 4K add on, some movie channels just two screen pix which has retro channels playing stuff between the 1940s and the 1990s maybe even 2000s. And Epix now called MGM+. Everything went up in price.
At about $80.00 less for YTTV and X-finity unlimited 300 down internet, than I was paying for cable and bundled internet, I still consider it a much better deal. $124.01 vs $204 and change is worth it to me. I would need internet anyway, so if you exclude internet, the live tv part is still over $100.00 cheaper than what I had, so it's definitely worth it to me. I'm not particularly fond of the changes they made to the Library function, but it's not a SERIOUS issue for me.
Yep, it's definitely worth it with your approach to it. We're not that big of fans with what they did with the library function either but, like you, it's not that big of an issue when we use the platform.
Just subbed to it. I like it! Accessible with Voiceover on all devices. I like being able to hide channels you don't watch. You do have to disable 5.1 sound to access audio description.
@@spaceghost4474 We've read various articles saying they believe YT TV simply isn't carrying it because the company feels that since they have Sunday Ticket that they're good without it. While it's a fair point that NFL is the 800 lb gorilla, it is overlooking a good number of fans. That's also not to mention the fact other services carry MLB Network, so it really does stand out as odd.
You guys are just amazing with your details! Do you script this ahead of time? Because it couldn't be more perfect! Absolutely great information always. THANK YOU!
Thanks, we appreciate that! Yes, we do script videos. If we didn't, they'd likely run 20 minutes in length and frustrate our editor AND viewers. 🤣 That's also part of the reason why we do our live streams on Fridays, so we can be off the cuff and go more in detail, if warranted.
I’m continuing to try out UA-cam TV while my DISH subscription is on hold. I like the interface and quickness of the channel guide. Don’t care for my Samsung TV (newer QLED) switching display resolution while using UA-cam TV. Plus a bit worried about Fall college football as I usually watch two games simultaneously. Hope multi view works as advertised and that the content can be recorded (to enable skipping commercials.
That's the way to do it, in our opinion. Yep, you can record games - you can even set it up to record all games for a specific team. We're hoping that they make the multi view more robust in time for college football season. They've made some improvements, but still not there yet.
It’s getting harder and harder to have a streaming service that gets you all of the sporting events that you want to watch. MLB, NFL, & NBA all put coverage up for the highest bidder leaving some fans behind to miss games.
You're 1000% correct. Unfortunately, it's only going to continue to get that way since live sports is the only live thing that gets a substantial number of eyeballs. Services will tout it as good for consumers as it means they have "choice", but ultimately, it just means more money out of pocket if you want to take advantage of the supposed choice.
Unfortunately i get a lot of buffering and it's frustrating. I have Internet so i don't know what the problem is. Is it maybe not enough Internet speed?
Thank you for your video. It is Sept. 8, 2024. A week ago I canceled my cable subscription from Spectrum ($200 per month w/internet) and have not yet subscribed to any tv options. UA-cam TV is one option to consider. What I want most is TCM. Have you heard rumors if TCM will create its own streaming service or is that not practical? Thank you.
We've not heard any rumors on that. UA-cam TV is one option for TCM. If cost is of concern to you, and you have an antenna for your locals, you may want to consider Sling Orange or Blue plus the Hollywood Extra add-on to get TCM. It's the most affordable route to get TCM.
I like all the channels it offers and the price. However, I can’t watch a full episode of anything because it keeps buffering or restarting. I’ve tried unplugging my TV and I’ve reset the app. Any recommendations?
Hm, we've not heard of that happening. Is it occurring on other streaming platforms, or just YT TV? If it's the former, it could be an issue with your internet speed. If it's the latter, it's probably best to reach out to YT TV support to see what assistance they might be able to provide.
@@pechazclark1189 Hm, we're not sure what the issue is then. Please let us know what you hear back from them. And, more importantly, hoping they're able to fox it for you.
A little off topic there's a new channel dedicated to classic cartoons called MeTV Toons launched June 25 according to cartoon historian Jerry Beck and Neal Sabin (chairman of Weigel)
We subscribed to YTTV last fall and then paused it after the CFP. I'm so frustrated by the money grab conference realignment that took place leaving my team a part of the Pac 2 - then the gutting that we took in the transfer portal - that I will probably not "un-pause" my YTTV subscription. I MAY look into the ESPN service if my anger subsides though. 🙄
We hear you. That money grab is largely led by Disney/ESPN and, to a lesser extent, FOX, from what we understand. Unfortunately, we think it's going to get worse before it gets better.
The omission of lifetime, history and SNY made it a firm no-go for us. Hulu offers that (and Vice) for 3 bucks more a month. Hulu got the nod here. When football kicks in, it's all about red zone here. Can't watch regular season football games any other way since red zone!
That is a real unfortunate miss for YT TV. Sure, you could add on Frndly TV to get those, but that just gives you another service to deal with and costs more than your approach.
Just $12 more I can subscribe to my cable company with basic cable...so nope a no go for me...getting a little too expensive, and with my internet bill, it would cost more than cable tv...
The only reason that I got UA-cam TV is because of the sports , the thing drives me crazy , I can be watching something and it goes back to the home page
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Generally speaking, in our opinion, it's two large players fighting that's going to leave us as consumers holding the bag. Regulation can be a good thing, but it's hard to see how it would benefit us currently.
Good question and one we addressed in another comment...but, the gist is many believe they're not adding it back because they feel that they have NFL Sunday Ticket and that's enough for them to be the top option for sports. Assuming they feel that way, we'd disagree with the sentiment. Other, comparable, services have it so it sort of stands out as odd that they don't.
