A very nice usable piece of test gear. See you on the next video.

Interesting...seems to work well. I guess I tend to replace caps and be done with it...but then that's just me.
    Thanks for sharing.

That’s what I’ve always done in the past, but I got curious about if they were consistently bad, and the price of this tester was reasonable, so I decided to get it. Thanks for watching, Joseph.

You shouldn't need to discharge the electrolytic after leakage testing because when you release the spring-loaded leakage test switch, it automatically discharges the device under test. That is one of the nice features of this capacitor tester. I also installed modern banana jacks for making connections. Instead of using test leads, though, I connected a pair of alligator clips with very short lead to the jacks. That makes it fairly easy to connect most of the capacitors I need to test, and it keeps the lead capacitance down enough to accurately (relatively) measure very low value capacitors.

Thanks, Rick. I will have to look back at the schematic and see that discharge feature.

I have that same model here. Instead of putting in new connectors I found a place on ebay that sells the old size pins and bought some of those to just make my own with.

I should have done that. Keep it more original. Thanks!
