    Hello good evening. I have the Godox sk400iii Flash, but I would like to know how to configure the color temperature of the flash, since the photos come out very orange. Thanks for your help.

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  2 місяці тому

      Hi. For the Godox SK400ii - there is not an option for changing the color temperature. The flash shoots about 5600K. If your images are coming out orangy - you probably need to change the white balance setting in your camera. Make sure it not set on setting other than "flash." I have never had a problem with the light being orange. One of my softboxes causes a little yellowing because it is older. I hope that helps.

    Well, I was hoping to see your new backdrop. Have you ever had trouble with the flash tube? I know you said you didn't but what would the life expectancy of one tube be? Several years? I'm wondering how delicate they are.

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi. Sorry I didn't see your comment until today. My flash tube is about 4 or 4/12 year's old. That is one advantage of the incandescent light bulb sticking out because it is more likely to get hit first. If I move any of my lights outside the studio- I always put the cover over the bulb and so far it has worked out.

      @@gingersnapshots-ok , I've since gotten a Godox portable light and must say it really falls short. Not because you pay a premium for the battery but it's not a standard bowens mount. You get it and then find out to actually use it you have to buy a little reflector to fit it or an adapter to go to a regular bowens mount. What were they thinking. It's really sad as this seems to be a good light.
      I do want to check into that LED light a bit more. I did see a video recently by Big Clive on that style of LED chip and how they fail. If an LED light in this fails, you probably would have to buy a new fixture at full cost. If an incandescent bulb failed, maybe just the bulb. Sad, we live in a disposable world.

    I bought this Sk400Mark II V. Currently, Photoshoot with trigger is fine, but continuously direct light was not that much power..?

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, the modeling light is the only constant light on this model. So the "direct light" is very low. Godox does make a video light. I haven't tried it yet. I started using Raleno LED lights for my videos because of their low price point. I hope to get the Godox next.

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  4 місяці тому

      I really do not see a difference in the actual flash tube. The quality is great for both models. The difference is in the modeling light. The flash tube overpowers the modeling light. Actually, I have my camera settings so that the flash overpowees the ambient light. I usually shoot with an ISO of 100.

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  4 місяці тому

      Both of these models are corded models. And both have a modeling light or COB. I do have a couple of the Good AD200Pro lights and they are cordless- some flash head attachments have a modeling light and some do not.

    Thanks for the video! I want to know if sk400iiv can do continuous shoot? Like 10 frames per second something like that?

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  2 місяці тому

      I would say no because the recycle time for the flash is about 1.5 seconds. So some of th pictures will be without the flash. I do not typically use continuous shooting in my studio. However, I have used the automatic timer - It will shoot three shots in a row. The first shot is perfect, the sedond shot is completely dark. The third shot is usually dark as well.

    • @shichaosun3298
      @shichaosun3298 2 місяці тому

      @@gingersnapshots-ok I see. But that was high power right? What if you use the lowest power like 1/256 or 1/128? Does it do continuous shoot at lowest power? Thanks

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  2 місяці тому

      @@shichaosun3298 The reason for not being able to shoot continuous is related to the recycle time of the flash. I don't believe the amount of power would change that . I have never tested it out though. I will say that I normal shoot at about 1/32 power. I will try to run some more tests.

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes it is just a better modeling light. So for photography with the strobe there really is no difference. If you don't use the modeling light, I would probably just buy the older version and save $30.

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  11 місяців тому +3

      Really is a combination of a several things. Some clients are from my website. I have worked hard to increase my SEO. Local networking events and local networking groups on Facebook. Word of mouth. I have participated in local pop up events - like one day events where most vendors are selling things and I will have an information table. It isn't an instant return but does eventually drive in business.

      I dnt have budget to buy profoto or westcott lights
      So, is it worth it if I get it for maternity shots to us with big 5-6 feet umbrellas ?

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  11 місяців тому +1

      I think it is definitely worth it! I often only use the large PLM umbrella. I used the 86 inch for a long time and switch to the 64 inch. I feel like it produces as good of quality as the 86 inch but it takes up less room in my small studio. Ana brandt teaches on using a 64 inch PLM only. Sandra Coen is on instagram - she teaches on using one light in a PLM.

      I think what you mean is I can use pair of Godox SK400II V lights with 64 inch umbrellas.
      If yes, which umbrella to be used (white/silver).
      Also, does these lights give that side black line in photos when shutter speed is above 200 (which I get with my present simple speed flash) and how much is the recycle time ?
      Lastly, I want to ask if there's a noticeable difference in the quality of light and If photographer has a little higher budget, shall he go for Godox AD200pro/AD400 pro/600 pro.. If yes which one to buy for Maternity & Kids Indoor shots

    One thing great about Godox it is cheap and produces good results. And you just throw away once it stops working. I do know flash tube will go off colour after 2-3 years.

      I'm not sure it works that way. those aren't standard bulbs but the socket will be similar. if you'retrying to do video, you could have an LED strobing because you're seeing the cycles per second.
      I now have a Godox and a Neewer. Both have good points and absolute failures. On the whole, Neewer is much better than Godox. But, when Neewer messes up, it does so massively.
