ok I hope this doesn't sound rly weird but you're like super eloquent LOL this video was really informative (I'm an incoming hs senior looking into all of the seven sister colleges) and you being from California too is super cool!!!! I wish you luck post grad!!!
This video was so beneficial during application season and now that I’m preparing to move into Wellesley it’s still a great resource. I hope life after graduation is treating you well!
I'm so glad you found this helpful, and congrats! Good luck with moving in, and please let me know if you have any other questions that I can help answer :)
i'm an incoming first-year at a women's college (not wellesley, but smith!) and i'm really scared and anxious about not being able to achieve what i hope for due to competition... rigor... extracurriculars etc. your work/personal life balance reflections were warm and helpful. thank u for the reassurance! :-)
OMG! i found you off a chinese duolingo video and really related to the extent of ur chinese knowledge (we have the same 1st grade level of fluency and we are both shanghainese!) and im waiting for a wellesley decision on friday so maybe i will be joining the wellesley family?!! YAY
Very helpful! I just completed my first year at Wellesley and I am applying to other colleges for sophomore spring. I am grateful for the experiences, opportunity, and friendship Wellesley offers. However, it was very hard for me to establish other things were more important than stressing over getting marginally better grades and still do well academically at Wellesley. I always had to choose academics over my mental health, work, friendships, etc., which was dreadful to me. Watching your video helped me understand that it is feasible to be successful while at Wellesley, but it should not be done at the expense of your true desires from your college experience. Congratulations on your graduation !!!
Thank you, and congrats to you too on finishing your first year! Glad you've found the experience at least somewhat worth it so far, and best of luck with your Sophomore year! If you do decide to transfer, good luck wherever you go next as well. :)
Hi! I'm part of the class of 2021 at Wellesley, and was inspired to apply to Wells partly because of your earlier video. First of all, thanks so much for being so honest in this video. As a future student, I don't want the realities that I'm going to be facing to be masked or sugarcoated. At the same time, I'm a bit frightened about the environment that I'm going to be in since I am a Latinx, queer student and have suffered with some anxiety in my childhood. Any advice for me going in to the college? Much appreciated and congrats on graduating !!!
GET YOUR EDUCATION, DON'T FORGET FROM WHENCE YOU CAME AND THE WORLD'S GONNA KNOW YOUR NAME!!!!!!! sorry i saw your username and couldn't resist c; congrats! best of luck
Alexandria Hey, I was wondering what your SAT and ACT scores were in high school. I am thinking of applying to this school but feel like my test scores are below average
I remember watching your first video and thinking it was too.. happy. That doesn’t mean that I wish that Wellesley wasn’t a super happy place, but I’m glad you seemed more real and provided more extensive opinions in this video that showed some of the more problematic sides of the school.
Super agree! Going back to watch that first video makes me cringe a lot but it also is a great way to see just how much I've changed and grown over my time at Wellesley. First-year me was painfully optimistic and so full of energy, so I'm glad that jaded-graduate me was able to balance that out a little more with this video. :) Thank you for watching both, and for this comment!
Great to see you back on this channel (and maybe ctrlzpro?) !! And congratulations on graduating ❤❤ it seems like you've matured a lot over the 4 years. I think this is a very helpful video not only for people interested in Wellesley or any college in general but also for those pulling through their sophmore year (like me :") ) can't wait for your next video!! 👍👌 oh and of course your cosplaying videos if you're still into that hehe
Meririn has been super active but Het and I have been so dead hahaha rip CtrlZPro sorry And thank you so much! I'm glad you found the video helpful. Best of luck with your senior year, you can do it!!! * ^*)7
Thank you so much for this video. As a high school senior, I am now applying to colleges and seriously considering Wellesley. However, I do have certain worries which your video helped to answer.
Hi! I’m an incoming freshman at Wellesley, and I hope to join one of the a capella groups at Wellesley (maybe the toons 👀👀👀). Thanks for the cool videos!
👀👀👀👀👀👀 t o o n s Welcome!!! We're so excited to have you ❤️I know things are super wild rn so please don't hesitate to reach out for any help you need!
Lucy! I'm probably some random stranger but I lowkey stalked your videos half a year ago and now I've been accepted into the class of 2022. Does your email in the description box still work?
DID I TOTALLY FORGET TO RESPOND TO THIS im so sorry omg the email in the description box should still work! wellesley alums get to keep our emails forever
I covered this in the preview FAQ video before this one if you'd like the details! But in short: I was a CS Major and Economics Minor, and ended up working in consumer-facing fintech after graduating. I did software engineering for almost 4 years before transitioning into product management and later developer relations. Still doing that now, alongside this UA-cam side gig haha
!!! I'm glad you found it helpful! At this point I feel too crufty but I never did get around to that second video I said I was gonna make so maybe now is the time HAHAH
Hi! I'm an incoming first year at Wellesley and I was wondering if getting a 4.0 is even attainable? Everyone always seems to say that it's impossible..... Also, thank you for your videos! When I was waiting for my acceptance letter they helped me cope.
I've heard about people getting 4.0s so I guess it isn't impossible, but for me personally I honestly don't think it's even worth trying to get a perfect 4.0 given how much time and energy I would need to sacrifice for that. And no problem, glad you found the videos helpful!
Hello! I'm applying for fall 2018 and I was wondering what my supplement essay should include. I did mention that Wellesley is my first choice and that I am very interested in taking the MIT morphed classes as an architecture major...do you think I'm missing something? Please let me know-btw this was really helpful xx
Hello there! I thought the application deadline was mid-January? I might be mistaken about that. Either way, I know you've probably heard this from everyone you've asked but I genuinely believe that if you write in a way that shows your personality and what excites you, and if you focus on the things that make you a great fit for Wellesley, that's the best you can do. :) Good luck, and sorry for the slow reply!
one more question pleas , when i was trying to apply for it they gave me three choices so i wonder what is the difference among them ? here is the link to check www.wellesley.edu/admission/apply ) the common application , coalition for access affordabilityand success .
hey , i'm a undergratuated steudent and i want to apply for this collage but i need to make some questions clear in my mind and u onl can answer me , so pleas try to .well first of all i want to joying a english department so my question is : is that availbal ? second what is all about ? i mean why only girls are allowed to study there? were u allowed to go out of the compuse ? how long u stay there ? and what about fees ? and from where did u manage ur needs (i mean where did u get money all this period for ur clothes ... were u allowed to work outsid in partjobs ? and finally how was ur experience ? pleaaaaase try to answer me , my futur depends on u cause the deadline is very close !! thanks for listning , god bless u
Hello! Sorry for the slow response, work has been hectic recently and I've fallen super behind on YT comments. Let me try to answer your questions one by one: 1) Yes, we have an English department! 2) I can't really speak for the college as a whole but as I understand it, the purpose of a women's college is to create a space where it's the status quo to find yourself surrounded by women (and others, of course) who are leaders and active participants in their communities, which isn't really an easy thing to find elsewhere in the world as it is now. Because of this, Wellesley is (for the most part) the kind of place where you find yourself surrounded by women and people of all backgrounds, all ambitious and fierce and intelligent and hungry for knowledge in the best ways possible. 3) We were definitely allowed off campus, haha! Wellesley is not a convent, as much as we often joke that it might as well be one. Though tbh I think it's more of a retirement home ;) 4) Most students spent 4 years of study for a bachelor's degree, but this varies a lot depending on life circumstances and personal needs! 5) re:jobs - I worked on campus throughout my sophomore year in Public Relations as a student videographer and also helping with research in the CS department. I also spent every summer working either a job or an internship. 6) I think the application processes vary depending on your personal background? Coalition/Questbridge are meant for prospective students of certain socioeconomic backgrounds as way to help those who are underprivileged and fully deserving of a chance at higher education but may need a little help (financial or otherwise) to do so. 7) I'm hoping this came through in the videos, but all in all I definitely don't regret choosing Wellesley, and it was a lovely, unique, unforgettable experience through which I know I've made more than a lifetime's worth of amazing friendships and memories. Like any student, I have plenty of complaints about Wellesley as an institution as well and I've expressed a lot of those in these videos, but for me as a whole I think it was definitely still worth it. :) Best of luck with your application!
thank you soooooo much for making my question clear , but i have one last qustion how can i apply ? and does this scholarship take care of all your needs ? i mean (the ticket with wich you travelled at first , residence ... ) or u needed other financial sources ? thank you again ,that was so nice from u have a nice day
The size/breadth of financial aid will depend on what kind of aid/scholarship you get, so I can't really answer whether it will cover things like travel expenses without knowing which program you're applying for, sorry! There should hopefully be relevant resources on the Wellesley site for Wellesley-specific funding sources and larger programs like Questbridge have websites with information as well. Best of luck!

Hi! My name is Sofía, and I’m currently applying to colleges. I’ve been considering Wellesley for Early Decision, but I’m hoping to talk to some people who would be able to give an honest opinion. If you manage to see this, I’d absolutely love to get a response. Let me know if we can talk!! Thank you!!
Just not a lot of Europeans around here. I'm the only person fully from Poland here and generally from Eastern Europe. There are almost no people from other neighboring countries, like Germany, Czech Republic, Ukraine etc. It's probably due to the fact that there are generally less international European students in the US because majority goes to English schools, but still Wellesley in comparison to other, bigger schools is very bad in that sense. Plus, the fact that it is so far away from everything... Plus, nobody really cares. There are a lot of actions about African American students, Asian Americans, LGBTQ and that is great, they are needed! But at the same time, some groups are unfortunately left alone to their own struggles. Being extreme low income plus international is not an easy thing here. I can't wait to go abroad next year.
Ahh, I see. thanks so much for sharing your experience with me! I definitely agree that most of the international students i met while at wellesley weren't european, so i super appreciate being able to hear about what that's like from you. low income and international is definitely never a fun time--wellesley prides itself on its financial aid programs but when it comes to financial aid for international students it seems like they pretend it isn't a thing at all. hope you have a lovely time abroad though!! getting some time away from wellesley is always so nice hahahah
Oof I heard there were some changes in the grading policies but I'm not sure that deflation has been "done away" necessarily? Most of my professors objected to the idea of grade deflation ever existing in the first place, they just referred to them as "strict grading policies" as if that were a different thing HAHA Here's a link to the current policies in effect, according to the website: www.wellesley.edu/registrar/grading/grading_policy And congratulations!! Hope you have a lovely time at Wellesley. If you ever have any other questions, please let me know!
ok I hope this doesn't sound rly weird but you're like super eloquent LOL this video was really informative (I'm an incoming hs senior looking into all of the seven sister colleges) and you being from California too is super cool!!!! I wish you luck post grad!!!
Thanks so much! Honored that you think so, but it's most likely just editing out the awkward. ;) Best of luck with your applications!

Do you know if they got rid of grade deflation? I saw some rumors in the comments of another vid (Just got in ed, I’m starting this fall!)
