Thanks for the vid, I need to replace mine on ‘18 F800GS Trophy, I’ve seen advertised 8.5 or 10.5 mm bolts as an option to buy. Do you know what this relates to?
Great vid Anthony. Gives me confidence to do myself. Thanks. Where did you buy the chain and sprockets? Does the chain come correct length for 800 gs? Cheers
Great vid Anthony, thanks for sharing. I have the exact same rear sprocket to install on my GS and I'm wondering, is there a wrong/correct side of mounting? Both sides look identical, the only difference is JS logo and a number on one side. Yours have writing facing outwards. Also, if you don't mind, what's the correct torque values for the sprocket nuts? I've heard BMW recommend using new nuts with every sprocket change? Cheers
Wacky One thank you ! Yes the logo and writing should be to the outside and the torque value is 90nm. You should tighten the nuts to 10nm first and then go to 90nm, do them is crisscross order. Never heard of using new nuts and I didn’t personally
Thanks @@motoadvire, yeah I guess it makes sense to keep the number outside.. On the old/new nuts I'm reading mixed opinions on different forums. I'll go for what I have plus blue Loctite, can't get new ones at the moment anyway. Are you sure about 90nm? Is it not extra 90 deg after 10nm? Thanks again!
Wacky One you are correct, to confirm that is a 10nm initial torque and then a turn of 90 degrees nm. If done to the exact detail the bolt will not need to be renewed however as you were saying of the bolt was tightened further it would stretch the rubber and could loosen
Thanks @@motoadvire, I think I've reached maybe 60 deg after initial 10nm and that's already 40nm. I think I'm gonna leave it like that, mark it and check after first ride. Hopefully Loctite will do the job..
Nicely done Mate.
Mr TPR thanks mate

I remember I had to check mine, it’s the bolt size holes for the rear sprocket!
