- Been making my own home cut Sun 78 rpm records, here's what I have so far. Lotta trial and even more error! Each day I do this some gremlin possesses the FrankenPresto machine and wreaks havoc. Doing this for my own fun since I just can't go to local garage sales and find Sun records here in Argentina.
Wish that I still had my 78s. I sold them all some time ago now. The Bobby Roberts is really cool. The b side BIG SANDY has long been a favourite of mine along with the great moody rocker of his on HUT Craving .
Would love to have any one of these... novel look with the clear and sun label. Originals or not... this is not just reproductions... it is art you are creating. Real treasures.
Looks like a lot of fun!
Happy Birthday Mack, it's nice weather up here in Oregon .
Those look amazing! You should sprinkle a few into the thrift shops for a laughs!
If I were back in Texas, I would, a Dallas doofus dealer fell for a couple of test presses (pop junk with hand written rockabilly titles) I sprinkled I to the half price books stacks a few years back

What beautiful little objects!
You gotta be selling me some of these
I've missed watching your videos.. are you back???
Fantastic job!
This is so awesome! Great work! Wish I had your skills!
love this video!
Wonderful stuff 👍👍👍
I needa get some of these, they're great!
Mac, love these!!! Is it the same Dennis West who said that he had bought inventory including thousands of SUN Vinyls? Some people talked it was Kevin Lewandovski..
I wouldn't be opposed that if one day through the powers that be if there was ever a 3 or 4 record box set released of most of everything that was released on Philip's International not Sun Records but Phillips International because there was some Excellent Rockabilly that was released on Philips International
I thought you were gonna show them being made.......like the title says
Next week

I used to deal with Dennis West. I would bring him rockabilly from Mississippi, on my trips to Pennsylvania. He took me to lunch not long before the incident. He was so silent and depressed, it was hard for me to swallow. The next time, his store was closed so I called from a phone booth and he told me his wife died. It was like a gut punch. Two years ago in Roanoke, I talked to an 80+ year old record guy who said Dennis was patrolled and buying records again. He had a lot of good things to say about him. Go figure.
On the record list Dennis West put out after the death of his wife, he included his "version " of what happened to her and thanks to those who sent their condolences. For a small framed man, he had a pair of big ones.😮
He died a couple of years ago
A cool hobby to have, Mr Mack. I trust as they're plastic, there's no need for heavy tracking weight at the stylus? Have you tried different headshell/ stylus combinations on the playback? Great Video!
I have, they play great on the ancient heavy Newcomb, and the AT120. 78 stylus is best
AND......................How are you cutting them?????? Got a demo video?
One coming next week!
Can you ship to Athens Tennessee if I ordered a few new cuts from the original sun 78s
Can't, only for my own fun.
