- Learn how to properly clean a Dry Flow Air filter just like the ones found on various aftermarket cold air intake systems for your 2016+ Honda and Acura.
K&N part number = 99-0624 (for a 32oz spray bottle of cleaner)
AEM part number = 1-1000 (for a 32oz spray bottle of cleaner)
DO NOT OIL A DRYFLOW FILTER
I don't think a couple hours is long enough to let it dry. I waited 3 hours today and I guess the filter may have been damp in some small crevices, because when I started my car, I had a real rough idle and a p050a engine code... Found there was a little water dripping off the intake and some water got into my MAF... I'd recommend letting the filter dry overnight BEFORE re-installation.
Thanks for the feedback on this!
I would like to add that it matters your environment. If you live in AZ it’s probably take 3 hours because of dry air but if you live in Louisiana or something the humidity will extend that dry time.
Thanks Vincent! I have been waiting for this video.
No problem man.
Will any k&n cleaner work ?
Is it Really necessary to used the k&n cleaner on a dryflow?
Any brand of cleaner will do. Just make sure it's designed for a Dryflow filter
If we don’t have the cleaner, what are the options?
Since it a synthetic filter you will want that cleaner.
Wtf lol mine came with oil
How many washes are recommended and where can I order a replacement for the filter?
Kytos currently you can easily get a dozen or so washes before needing to replace. If you need another filter just order from us directly.
Do you have a video of how to install the cold air intake? planning to buy one
No current video but full detailed instructions are included.
How often would one need to clean a dry filter?
Roughly every 10k miles
Any issues with using the regular K&N cleaner on the dry flow filter (as opposed to the "dry flow cleaner")?
Just use any dry-flow specific cleaner. You can use any brand
Is this specific one the only option, or can I also use the K&N Power Cleaner?
Specific for dry flow.
I'm guessing this is the type of filter the prl cobra uses?
Yes very similar.
Just want to ask what tool did you use to take it outside the box? And what are the tools needed to loosen the bolts? sorry i have mine installed by someone else. I wanted to clean my filter. Thanks anyone who can help!
Kevin Zenki 3mm hex key and 10mm are all that is needed to remove lid and filter.
