I own a shell FH and a shell Bugs Moran. These are outstanding wallets, excellent appearance. Just complete class. Phil Kalas af Ashland provides superior service! Great review Aaron!
Yeah I like shell cordovan too, the only problem with shell is that it's very sensitive to moisture. You will find your shell looks kinda ugly during hot summer days as your sweat goes on the wallet while you carry it in your pants pocket, and once you pull your wallet out you will find large cloudy spot from your sweat or heavy finger/hand prints from your hand's sweat, the cloudy spots won't go away for a while or last whole summer season as most likely you'll sweat very often during summer season. But of course shell will goes back to nice shine once you brush with horsehair brush and buff with shoe shine cloth.
Shell is less porous and more moisture resistant that cowhide by nature. The surface waxes may get cloudy when long exposure to water but as your said it’ll usually buff out
Excellent. Love it. If you want a wallet with a cash well go with the Tony the Ant, then you're complete. If cash is not a priority then choose the Bugs. Either is wonderful quality, but if I want access to cash, it's the Tony! Perfect small wallet.
If anyone is interested in this design and card layout but does not want a wallet that is too tall I reached out to Phil and he is currently drawing up a design that is essentially just the bottom half of the FH with the two card pocket layout.

I love Shell Cordovan. I have one Wallet in reverse and one wallet in blue Shell and they're both incredible.

my FH is shell 8; my Bugs is shell natural and my tony the ant is shell 4.
