Edit: Maybe let the person have a kekkei genkai, possibly an ice one. Maybe let her be Himawari's teacher so the girl doesn't just look unrelated to Naruto and family. Then, maybe let someone kidnap her and make false rumours that she's dead so Himawari has more motivation to become a shinobi to avenge her sensei and Kakashi snaps, becomes mentally damaged and considers suicide because he feels like everyone close to him always dies, we get an emotional moment with OG Team 7 comforting Kakashi. Then one day, when they're in a life-or-death situation, make Kakashi sacrifice himself to save Himawari or someone by standing in front of them and taking the hit, then seconds before he's killed the girl saves Kakashi, deflect the attack and he cries in joy to not see her dead and hugs her maybe. That'll be one hell of an arc. Maybe introduce her as saving Kakashi and Himawari from an OP character that she's been hunting down for years for killing her mother. Possibly make a sad backstory for her too, perhaps her dad was abusive, her mom getting killed in front of her, but she finds friends and fixes her relationship with her sibling(s) that help her not become a rogue ninja and stay on the good path. Wanna make it more interesting? Her dad betrayed and accused Kakashi's dad, which you know what happens next (sigh). Tada.

In my opinion, Minato/Kushina is the only balanced couple in Naruto: Minato was the Fourth Hokage, but Kushina is the only woman in Naruto and Shippuden who had the dream of becoming Hokage (not even Tsunade wanted that), was strong by herself and was the Nine Tails Jinchuriki. That’s why I ship them: it’s the only primary couple in Naruto I would want to have, especially if compared to Sasuke/Sakura, which is a highly abusive relationship - they almost ended in femicide, for fuck’s sake.
But yeah, I ship Naruto/Hinata too, just because I want Hinata to be happy. That’s true.
